Can we hear something official from a mod or a dev about the British issue?

90% of my failed defenses are British in global age, it's getting tiresome. There is no defense against their cheap spammable troops and paratroopers/decoys. Plus as more people get continually steamrolled by them more people switch to them and the problem worsens. These imbalances have been pointed out for years in numerous post with nary an official word. Is there any plan afoot to address the huge advantages this nation has either by buffing the other nations or nerfing the Brits themselves?

In my mind it has become one of the more critical issues in this game going forward. It's not much fun to spend so long getting to a higher age, spending weeks upgrading one defensive building, then see it be rendered completely useless by the same no-skill garbage tactic over and over. If the ''data'' was enough to get you to nerf sabo/protect/betrayal for balance reasons I don't see how this ''data'' can be so willfully ignored.

I don't need to hear from a bunch of British players about my lack of ability while they gloss over their own use of the game's biggest crutch. I don't need to hear that if British archers are nerfed something else becomes too powerful. British archers are the only units in the entire game that are mechanically different with their +1 range. All other unique units just have higher HP or DPS, they don't get any other advantage that completely alters their behavior or utility. I don't need to hear that I should just switch to British too, that solves nothing defensively or NTG-wise. Thanks.

nothing will change every nation has their unique ability, they gave you the option to choose nation so stop complaining and whining or Switch to British and enjoy the game

I agree 100% with that post. we have 8 nations(Chinese,Romans,Germans,french,Japanese, Britain, Greeks and Koreans) and 90% in my defense notes are from British players. And not only that other nations have a huge losses in my base. Normally 1/8 aka 12,5% of attacks should be rushed by every nation. Not only that they steal and 15% more oil,food and gold. i checked my defense log right now and this week i have been attacked from the new helicopter oil steal combo and from British players with standard army. The rest was dropping medals. We want a balance game, with fair nations and equal wonders all of them not some of them. You spend millions on millions for upgrade your walls and the whole defense and an atomic British player just drop 100 broken green jackets 4 decoys in your mortars , 1 sabotage and 1 blitz in your town center and castle and that's it.

Compare to Raid, World War is the real issue.
For raid, it is no difference for nations when you collecting resource from abondonded base.

But in World War, British is significat OP.
1. With lv 7 Egyptian, artilary is not able to bring down a tower in one shot, and you normal lose some rifle. but for British, artilary and green 2-3 jacket able to bring tower for range 5,
2. Covered by green jackets, Sniper Tower will not aim on artilary

Guys, as you know you can increase range of mortar (at lib) from 4 to 5!
just imagine every players are able to increase their Rifleman range same like mortar from 4 to 5 (at lib) , then what do should we do?
the only answer is designing our base against any troops with 5 range!
the stronghold helped to solve this issue but I suggest it would be better if game developers add +1 mortar building or add a new building same works as mortar building !
anyway every Nation has own advantage (more troops in Roman, +1 extra citizen in Chinese and so on...)
this is a positive point of Dominations that have different nations with different advantages! don't try to ignore Dominations advantage!

I 100% agree. Upgrading the mortar range through library may sound like it helps but it doesnt. British players should know that they need to handle the mortars first with tactics or planes and then its easy mode. Im playing French right now but I might switch to British just because how EASY, CHEAP, & ridiculously EFFECTIVE Brits are. Its just so dumb. All other nations higher level than me will lose a good chunk of their army facing my base even winning 100%. I can accept that. British nations loses hardly anything of their army which is so dumb.

The fact is even the toppest players are unable to stop British
Just look at the leader borad, full of British in top alliance

over the previous 2 updates, i noticed they r significantly boosting factory troops (new upgrades, new apc library tech, new healer unit, new war coalition for factory units hp) obviously germans with HT combos are benefiting from that buff, yet not as effective as british shooters specially in wars which indicates how much british shooters are dominating attack strategy inspite of the massive buff factory units have recieved (almost like a +1 or +2 age upgrades)

if this is the case that should show us that playing british is better than getting a +1 age factory troops with boosted hp by a new coalition, which means something is awefuly wrong about them

on the other hand if they decide to add a new anti-shooter defensive building, it would negatively affect all nations not only british, and won't by any means change the fact that British will be still the most powerful, so such a solution is not practical

the other option is to nerf British shooters, which is not practical too, many british players have to work hard to take down max lvl bases with white walls, they barely make it with few troops left, ending the power era of British won't make it any better for other nations players who seek getting best results (specially after tactics nerf)

so the only option left is buffing other nations (up to complete rework) cuz some of these bonuses are obsolete in benefit, for example not so many uses tanks for their damage that's why no one playing greeks in final ages, same goes for japanese who benefit only from their extra damage soldiers (while u can get the same benefit with germans + much more)

so in short buffing other nations by either reworking them or making their special troops more useful again, soldiers are so useless and die quick, tanks...meh who needs them anyway with decoys and HTs from mercs and soldiers from apcs with many anti tank guns threats

most of the players are trying to unify the type of troops in their combo to decrease the defensive threat as much as possible so they don't have to deal with many threats, more types of units = more threats, the reason why they go with only howie-shooters combo, neglect the threat of all buildings except mortars, so a logic option is to go British (best shooter nation) as howies are no different from a nation to another

Max lvl base with lv 15 wall is difficult to all nations, but among all the nations, British is still the best choice to bring down it.

As you already mentioned, British is the best choice for shooter - howie combo.
For all other nations, howie is under thread of Sniper Tower, but British no.
For all other nations, shooter will be in the range of tower, but British no.

British howie is well protected by shooter from the fire of sniper tower, as they are in same line.
And British shooter able to destroy tower / caster from a safe range.
And British shooter will not trigger general to spawn.

All the above are unique for British, and all of the above is because +1 range.
Apart from +1 range, shooter itself is OP, that's why there is dominated amount of players chose British / Korean / Chinese

If we talking about not nerf British, but buff something else, I am looking for
1. Korean: +60% DPS
it is proved that +40%DPS is not as good as +1 range/+15% DPS, then more DPS for Korean shooter is needed

2.Chinese: +50% DPS
I am not sure how much double fire rate will help, but given the fact that +1 range is better +40%DPS. Chinese need at least +50%DPS

3.Roman / German/France
These 3 are commonly used non-shooter nations. And some good replacement of shooter will benefit them.
HT is one choice, but we need more choice: ie
1. 4-range machine gun / bazooka
2. Mortar with higher DPS against defender

4. Japanese / Greeks
These 2 nation need a big buff, either in their UU or additional perk in offensive side.

To summarize, we need
1. buff Chinese / Korean's shooter to make them same level of British
2. Buff other troop to match shooter's standard

HT is level 5 in university,required 7 workers for 190 days
Shooter is level 2 in university, required 3 workers for 91 days

British have always been the most efficient nation. I guess keeping the 5 range but removing the +15% DPS is an interesting balance.

Removing 15% damage bonus will do absolutely nothing ,shooters are designed to deal with defenders ,simple balance - just remove the ability to fire above the walls ,yes it's that simple .

just reposting my ideas from previous threads.

I dont think british need a nerf. They just need to make other nations compete with british.

For instance, Japan is supposed to be a defensive nation.

The TC shooting invaders is a joke once you get higher up in ages.

Instead how about:

Stables/Garrison/Bunkers spawn 30% faster and spawn 1 additional troop than normal. + Disabling effects are 25% less effective against spawning buildings. Traps 1% more effective per age.

Chinese:
+3 citizens and +2 merc capacity instead of just 1. Mercs do 20% more damage and have 20% more hp and 2 Free random mercs per day.

Germans:
While under rally effect, troops take 50% less damage. Troop Damage +2.5% per age.

French:
-50% training time for troops and tactics. -15% troop cost. +1 troop Alliance gate space per age. -5% troop/tactic upgrade cost in Armory.

Greeks:
2% discount upgrade cost per age and 2% build time reduction per age. Increase the instant finish time to initial 30 min + 30min per age.

Koreans:
Resource buildings +50% health, war tactics +4 capacity(with the recent changes this makes more sense) 20% food/gold refunded and 35% oil refunded after being attacked. War tactics train 20% faster, tactics blessing 50% better.

Romans:
Army size +3% per age, mercs +2 slots, coalition troop size +15%, +3 troops for alliance gate.


I didnt put a ton of thought into the above suggestions, just an example of some things that could make other nations much more appealing.

Something needs to be done. A good 80% or more of players in wars we see are British. I can tell you I've NEVER seen a Japanese or Greek in a war since the Atomic age. I can count on 1 hand the number of Chinese nation players I've seen in war.

What's even worse, is that in the higher leagues, you get about the same ratio of British, so it's hard to get any NTGs of other nations.

One way to nerf the brits is to only allow the extra range on the shooters against defenders. When they fire at defenses, they need to get 1 tile closer. Maybe increase the DPS by 5% to compensate for the loss, but the +1 range for all targets is OP.
