Crowns? Your thoughts...

I'm wondering... What does everyone spend their crowns on? What gets the most bang for the buck with them? Just curious. I spend them and think I should have spent them on something else. I only buy crowns once every month or so to show my appreciation to the devs for providing the game, although lately not as much because of all the problems and frustrations that need fixing. I've been considering changing from Germany to another nation with the crowns I have left to see if I can improve my game. Anyone have thoughts on that as well? Or should I wait until updates are made?

Either nation swaps or speed up construction. For nation swapping I would wait for any nation changes.

I think now we'll need crowns for army speed ups again or nation/wonders changing.

The best buildings to speed up in EA/industrial age are barracks, blacksmith and temple. In overall, they increased prices twice so its not efficient now.

I have 15 builders and almost maxed out gunpowder age troops and buildings. I rarely speed up troops and the only time I use crowns to speed up any upgrades is when it hinders me from raising an army (barracks, mercenary camps). With the exception of the temple, I usually wait out my other upgrades. I usually stagger my upgrades so that I dont have all my builders tied up at once. For example, right now I'm upgrading farms and caravans (3 days). I'll do two upgrades today, 2 tomorrow, and 2 the day after and so on. That way, by the third day I will be freeing up 2 builders and putting 2 more to work until everything is done. Overall I purchase crowns every 2 weeks and I use more crowns on blessings and at the market to gain enough trade goods to field a mercenary army.

Switching nations/wonders is one thing you'll want to save your crowns for. Especially as they keep rebalancing all the time. I never speed up upgrades unless it's a few hours away and I need to log off. I don't speed up when there are many days left, it's too expensive.

If there are upgrades that block me from playing (e.g. barracks, temple, etc...), I get the 3d and/or 5d peace treaty instead (because I don't want to lose medals, you may not even care). It's much cheaper to do that (hundreds of crowns) and kick off your 3 barracks upgrade while in peace treaty than having to speed up the upgrade of 3 barracks (thousands of crowns).

I have never purchased any crowns but currently have 3500 at hand. You get a lot of them for reaching milestones like empire league (1000 crowns) and dynasty league (2000 crowns). I also used to crown farm below 500 medals by letting myself looted by raiders and taking the defense crowns for killing defenders (roughly 20 every night). I also try to complete all the quests I can. Small amounts add up.

The trick is to use them wisely and not feel like because you have a lot of them, you can use them on random things. You need to be strict, like managing your own family budget and you'll never have to buy crowns again.

I have used crowns primarily to upgrade my barracks and speed up troop upgrades. In the early days of the game, I used crowns to get Peace Treaties to save up for major things like Town Centre upgrades. These days, I don't bother with peace treaties at all. I also used crowns to switch my wonder to Angkor Wat. I have never used crowns for walls or to speed up economic upgrades (like farms and caravans). When I was gunning in the top 10 on the leaderboard, I used crowns to speed up army rebuilds and tactics. I have not changed Nations since I started playing (early December), but was thinking about a switch to French Nation...but after this weeks announcement, I will wait and see what the rebalancing looks like. My advice...save your crowns for the next update, which appears to be coming soon.

When I was a complete n00b I spent them on speeding up training because I only used one barrack...lolz Now I spend them on speeding up upgrades and I just switched nations.

wasted some when I was n00b, now stocking them for nation change, occasional Alexander Ressurection if I'm about to go to bed and he's max 3 crowns to leave on defense. Alex or Cleo.

I use crowns for instant barrack upgrade, cant wait for that... some wonder switching (did; Versailles to Angkor and a few months later back again) Also spent some crowns on speeding up upgrades with a few hrs left, up to a day (yes I am impatient... )

I havent bought crowns so only thing i manages to do whit them was to change the stonehange wonder that i had build not knowing its worthless
