Daily Playing Time To Keep Progressing ?

Hey guys,

I'm currently in the gunpowder age, and I simply can't save enough ressources to do the troops upgrades (3 million food), or the defensive buildings upgrades.

I have a life, I work and I'm married, so I can't spend hours daily playing this game. I love this game but it's just impossible to progress if I don't stay connected for several hours in order to protect my ressources from the attacks. I have an excellent donut layout but I still loose 250k food or gold in an attack from an enlightenment age player. What I loot in my playing session, I loose it in 2/3 attacks.

How do you guys manage your time ? For how long do you play daily ?
What is the best way to play to progress in the game starting from the gunpowder age ? How many sessions per day and how long each session lasts ?
Is one hour per day enough ?

This game is so time consuming and I feel like it's made in a way that you can't progress if you don't play for several hours per day or if you don't pay for crowns. And I don't find it challenging to pay to progress. And it's too damn demanding in terms of time to progress gradually.

I need some of advice. I want to continue to progress but I want to spend less time playing it, just one hour per day is the maximum I can allow for it. Should I just stop playing this game ?

Thanks.

Agreed. The game balance is not there yet. Could be NExon wants you to buy crowns to advance.....

Personally, I play max 1hr/day just to keep my builders busy. I am at high-classical and can go to medieval but I just take it slow and not shooting for the leaderboards.
Enjoy the ride and just chill. Take care of the family and work, that's much more important. :D

P.S. if you want to try another game, PM me for suggestion.

there doesn't seem to be a loot cap on resources or a loot penalty for attacking an age lower (at least matchmaking tries to match you within +/- 1 age)

these two features would ensure you can hang on to more of your resources for longer. I have my tc outside and even if it gets sniped the peace treaty isn't long enough to keep me safe either to save up and start a build

without buying crowns u need to play for several, many hours to save up 3 mil gold/food. luckily even in gunpowder age most things are in the 1.5 mil range which can be done in one few hour sitting. so if ur ok just keepig one worker busy at a time then that will do. but if u want to keep 14 workers busy and blacksmith library research running at all times then a 6hr a day is what ur looking at

wow if that's what it requires then I am quitting as soon as I get to medieval.

I have been playing Supercell''s Boom Beach where you can actually employ a produce/hold strategy to progress
all the way to max levels by playing only 1hr/day max. If you want to progress faster, just play more, but it is up
to the player. I hope this game does not REQUIRE you to put in 3+hrs/day in order to progress.

The main problem with this game is production rate from farms and caravans is way too slow once you get
up to medieval.

my referance point is i started playing when the game became available worldwide. maybe i missed a few days. i bought the starter pack so extra house. and total spent $30. tonight ill be starting enlightenment upgrade so 1 week to finish. so thats.....release date + lost days before found game - speed up from starter pack + week to upgrade tc = 1.5 months? so maybe without starter pack 2 months?

Before the update alot of players farmed unlimited trade goods in single player. With the gem from Um and the metal/fruit from Thebes you can have perma animal blessing = perma hun warriors or better. + weapon/armor bless each attack and train blessing up all time. You usually get like 3/4 mil food and gold in a few hours of playing.

They fixed it now so it is indeed very hard to get the enlightment upgrades unless everyone is gonna get stashed with alot of resources now and you can raid much more.

Unfortunately it does !!
I'm almost ready to go to medieval. If it's going to take me 3hrs/day to progress in that age, I can see me quitting dominations pretty soon.
It was fun for the last month, going all the way up to classical, but with all the bugs, cheats and imbalance, I don't think this game is worth the time.

I'm not sure why it is you guys struggle so much. I'm willing to bet you guys attack too many people for very little resources to often. Which is probably why you feel like it takes forever to get resource with every age. I'm extremely selective with the bases I choose to attack. And as a result I farm out huge upgrades quickly and don't really feel a pain with progression. If you aren't attacking bases with 150k gold minimum your wasting time. It does mean you have to cycle through A LOT of opponents but it also means you save loads of time in the long run. With every age I just up my required minimum before I launch an attack, unless it's an easy target which I could steamroll and not lose to many troops. If you farm differently then that's up to you. But i sure as hell don't want to sit and wait for troops to build all day for one simple upgrade.

Hey MadFury,

What age are you at ? How many medals do you have ? what is the troop combination you use to attack ? And how many ressources do you collect in one hour of game ?

And I didn't understand the "With every age I just up my required minimum before I launch an attack, unless it's an easy target which I could steamroll and not lose to many troops." What did you mean by you up your required minimum ?

Thanks !
