Different strategy for attack near max bases

So I am currently around 1627 or so medals, and most of the bases I find up here are lvl 100+ with at least level 8 walls and max defenses. I have had some success with 2 Supply Trains, 3 Cannons, 7 Cuirassiers, 15 Archers, and rest soilders but lately I have been using just 2 or 3 Supply Trains and the rest Soilders and archer and its actually working just as well, unless the base happens to have the Mortars in really hard to reach spots.

For those of you that are higher in Medals what are you using to attack hard bases? Do you always use your War Tactics? what about Generals?
