Generals on defense in WW

I have some questions for Seraphine and Nb4powerup . The CS faq says that generals are automatically activated on defense during war (both generals with ch3 Leadership research) but one of our peeps asked CS and they said you have to activate your generals before war starts. Not that we don't trust CS 🙄 but we have made a survey in HZ and in fact those who did not activate their generals only have one sitting on fort/castle. We always thought this was a visual error since the faq promised us auto activation. Since there is no replay feature yet there is no way of knowing unless we talk to our opponent (perhaps some of our super-duper warring teams that can set up wars amongst themselves can tell us) So here's my questions for our mods....

1) What is the true answer to the question of defending generals? How does it determine who is sitting on your fort/castle?
2) If you have to activate them, when do you do it? Is anytime during planning day ok? or do they have to currently be active at the moment war day starts? If this is the case is this fair to those who are attacked and have their generals killed in middle of night when the war starts?
3) Can you have the faq rewritten to be clear on this subject?

Any help you can give will be much appreciated

Hugs and kisses,
Gail

We tested and experienced the same thing in ProdigalThieves a few wars ago. Those who had multiple gens activated before war day, saw multiple gens standing on the castle, those who didnt just saw one. Cant tell if its just a visual difference or a real one, until we can test in an arranged H2H. Would love to hear the answer to this!

Wondering what the truth about this is too. Plus, seeing one general while scouting the enemy, only to deploy our entire army to be thrown a surprise party by a second general isn't the nicest of things

If you activate the generals when the war starts, then it will display all your generals in war base. If you don't activate, it will just display the strongest general, but in war, the other generals will still come out. For example my yesterdays war replay, 2 popped out, only 1 was displayed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcHYAndLjQA

But were you in contact with your opponent? Did he tell you he didn't activate his generals and they just came out on their own? He could have activated them after war search... You don't know. This does not answer my question Nb4powerup it clears nothing up. I could show video of bases I've attacked that probably should have had 2 generals but only had one as shown. We are getting 2 answers from Nexon CS... This video could back up either explanation because we do not know what the opponent did. Which one is right? Does it automatically happen or do you have to activate them and if so when? We need an answer from the devs or testimony from both opponents, not speculations from players. Seeing war replays of our own bases being hit could also help answer this question.

A clear answer from the devs is greatly desired here. Without war replays, it's difficult to know exactly what is happening.

GailWho , our friends at Outlaws!! and Invictus Army just did an inter-squad H2H a few days ago. I just reached out and Christopher confirmed it is indeed a visual glitch.. I trust this info to be true based on the reliability of the source and that they had members from both teams on each side warring against each other. : )

Thanks Prodigal Clint for looking into this for me. So you are saying best 2 are automatically activated and we do not have to activate them as the faq says? Someone has to tell CS this because apparently someone there thinks you have to activate them

GailWho, Anytime, no problem at all! Yes, your best generals are automatically activated for war day (1-3 depending on the library research). Seems to just be a visual glitch relating to which general's you have activated when planning day begins. However, confirmation from a CM would still be nice to close the book so to speak..........

GailWho we can also confirm that it's a visual glitch as we've noticed this back a few weeks and also received contradicting answers from CS. Which led us to ran test in war. 1-3 of highest levels Heros come out.

Did you go up head to head with another alliance that you could talk to and compare notes?

You say once it starts war base setup is set MaT2000 . But what is set and how was it set? This is what I'm asking. I don't want to beat a dead horse here but some people keep reviving it. Are you a developer or do you have access to war attacks on your base and have some extra knowledge I am unaware of? Or are you just repeating what the faq on CS says? Because if you talk to some of the peeps in CS they say you have to activate the generals in order for them to be used to defend your base. And FYI what you say is not exactly true I can change my base any number of ways on planning day after war starts and the changes will be locked once war day starts.

So what I'm trying to make clear here is if a war starts (search brings up an evil alliance for Hobbit Zombies to conquer) and I'm looking at my base on planning day and see Cleo's cape waving in the breeze over my fort standing there looking very lonely and in need of companionship. I want to know if I have to activate Napoleon some time during the day (as CS instructed my alliance mate) or will he automatically jump out of my fort with Cleo... (Pinching her butt as she leaves ) when my unfortunate opponent tries to attack my base (as the faq says).

Seraphine and Nb4powerup We Have heard of alliances who have spoken with their opponents and compared notes and they say it's a visual glitch that sometimes only one general is present on the fort when scouting the base and indeed 2 or 3 will actually come out without having to Activate them. It would sure be nice if we heard it from the moderators as a confirmation and a reassurance that CS will be trained to read their own faq and not tell players false information.
