I gave this a shot. My droid isn't paragraph enabled here so it didn't work very well. Couldn't draw enough people to read. Or maybe there just isn't enough players yet

I'm Greek advanced medieval age. I love the Greek unique unit. Its unique ability is nice if you can time the quicker build times. It can be a challenge to do that.

I'm Greek in mid GP age. the finish for free is pretty good. But what else do we get that is unique? Are our total build times shorter as well?

I know the English get the long bow man which has a longer range, but does everything even up as the ages advance?

Gunpowder Greek here. I don't see advantage to the Compsnion unit. I read that you need to build 7-8 of them to make a difference but I don't see it n

I'm probably beginning to mid med age. I've stopped using the companion and just use swarms of pikemen. I think Greeks are a really bad choice. You get reduced build/upgrade time if you log on and do it yourself. +5 minutes per age is really poor, -25 mins for a 48 hour build, yeh because that benefits me loads. Also you have reduced build cost which they have been sneaky about. You only get reduced cost on the initial build. the companion is good don't get me wrong but not worth the hype as you upgrade your merc camp and get the elephants which are better. comps are extremely weak against ballista so imo no point having them.

Stink, what do you mean you don't see it? Have you tried using a high number of Comps? Right now, I use a raiding party of 10 Comps, 13 bows and 7 spears. The comps are my main show. Everything is in support of them. My raiding group is expensive but very effective. Comps go after defensive buildings so use them the way they are designed. Kill the defenses first.

Three or four comps won't do much but 10 does. They will make short work of buildngs, but they do need support. Drop the comps first. Let the defensive troops spawn and come out. Then drop bows and spears behind your comps. The bows and spears will target defensive troops while the comps take down defensive buildings. Attack priorities should be; 1. Catapult 2. Garrisons 3. Balista's 4. Towers.

Sometimes balista's come second but with their short range they aren't all that threatening though I do almost always use a rally command to kill them. They can hurt comps so when you take it down, it has to happen hard and fast.

Tactics for comp raiding parties that work best is first aid and protect. These tactics are used best with high HP units and nothing is higher HP than comps.

Thanks Damascus. I will try. It seems to me the game needs some rebalancing. Defenses are a little too strong right now.

So, is the heavy royal companion supposed to deal 264 DPS? If not, please no one tell Nexon :) Enjoy it while it lasts!

That does not ruin it for me! That makes my day because I know they're not going to patch it and nerf my lovely horsemen! 60ish dps for 6 troop space was not cutting it for me before :/

defenses are too strong, lol, are you serious, this game is so heavily weighted towards the offense it isnt funny. if your not getting at least 50%-60% on every single raid you do then your not playing this game properly

that really depends on your targets. its easy to get 100% every time with no loss, provided you're in the right league, and choose your targets with a wee bit more care

i'm not quite as advanced (researching midevil now), so not as much troop space (65), but have had excellent success with 5 comps (first through the breech behind a wall-miner), 16 bowmen (as defensive infantry spawn), and 5 raiders--coupled with a timely sabotage when needed. this shot me straight through the 600 medal range in a few hours (and now i'm out of my league), only needing to deploy reserve merc armies once or twice. i'll experiment with first-aid rather than sabotage, as noted by Damascus, as it's cheaper and quicker to build.

How much cheaper is the building cost for the greeks? and does the reduced prices include with upgrades?

Haha this. Ever since the Cav Buff defense is a joke. Companions wreck everything. Walls go down without a fight. We all accidentally picked the best nation for this new era. Congrats everyone. Now go destroy all defenses.

I use 6 comps and the rest bowmen. The only defense that I worry about is ballistas -- haven't figured out a good way to take them without losses yet. Sabotage works well but they have to be in a vulnerable place. The fact that comps automatically go for defensive targets is beautiful. You just roll them in like tanks and drop the bows 10 seconds later to mop up the non-defense buildings. Like taking candy from a baby. Most of the time, anyway. If I get in trouble, that's when I drop the mercs.
