I haven't spent a penny on this game, been playing for two years , and have never really quit this game.
Morally, i shouldn't be speaking about how bad things have become with the game coz , hey, am getting everything for free right ?
So instead of ranting will try to be as neutral as possible.
Having been at both ends of Night Witch bug (lost 20-25k oil daily , and looted 50-60k , sometimes 100k in a day), i believe the game is at
a turning point . In the starting days of the bug , i could 'next on' 7-8 times to find a base with more than 5k oil.
But as the days progressed , nexting on became more of a chore. After 40-50 tries , there would be a base with 3500 oil and i would go for it.
On visiting the forums it was found that seasoned players are quitting 'temporarily', and it used be their bases stacked with oil (>5k ones) .
So as days went by , the amount of seasoned player bases which usually had more than 5k oil decreased.
Then few days back the news of hotfix started to float around. Players saw hope and some of them returned . Yes i can say so because my nexting has gone
down in since the last 24 hours (usually in 20 tries i get a base with >4.5k oil) . But i can see that hot fix is based on a design flaw and an assumption
which is not working out there in the field. As soon as seasoned players will realise this they will again 'temporarily' quit .
And i can already see in next 1-2 day(s) my nexting will again go up.
Nothing to be proud of. No matter how fast my oil upgrades can progress with a sigle night witch, i do want this to be fixed now.
Lets return some sanity, some sense of fair play to the game Nexon. Usually NEXON/BHG is addressed as single entity on the forums , but i would
like to talk to three different sections in NEXON/BHG.
Section 1: THE STAKEOWNERS - Do you guys know that your game is sitting at a tipping point (or are you busy counting the milllions) ?
The game can be salvaged by timely action , and if you authorise, i do NOT believe that the game will go downhill . People will whine and complain
but still come back . But only if you actually do something about the night witches.
Section 2: THE TECHNICAL ARCHITECTS/DESIGNERS : Being a technical architect myself, my question to you guys is how could you design the
game in such a way that the hotfix is optional. Don't you have any mechanism to push a 'mandatory' update , unless its a big Version X.xxx release ?
Yep you heard me. HOT FIX being 'OPTIONAL' is the reason night witches haven't died down. Coz i can simply choose not to upgrade.
SECTION 3: THE GAME DEVELOPERS: I have been a developer. In your shoes for considerable length of my career. You guys would be having the least authority,
but still can you take the initiative and disable night witches altogether. After having noticed your technology , i can say that this will be an across the user-base change.
There might be no means to single out who has a genuine night witch and who doesn't. I say doesn't matter. Just go ahead and remove all witches, including mine.
Lets reclaim our game. There might be a few complainers, but the community at large will be thankful.
