Is this impending hotfix going to count as a new version of the game?

Will we be able to donate/request and attempt revenge like we're all on the same version, or will everyone have to update first?

i have wondered that ... if it's a manual process .... then there is a strong *strong* motivation to delay upgrade and use night witches until all possible oil needs are met.

Yeah, my situation is more of an inverted sandbag scenario where our biggest hitter hasn't logged in lately, yet we need his base for matchmaking purposes. If we can't donate to his warbase that complicates things.

You bring up a more interesting point though.

Just wondering, can you attack bases that are on different versions? It seems almost all interaction with a base on a different game version is blocked, so if they also can't attack bases that did upgrade, all the night witch hoggers would end up only attacking themselves and just rotate the oil in between them :p

Nice thought but got to assume that is not the case. When raiding you still see many bases without more recent buildings on them or with embassies not restored. Most of these must be on older versions of the game and yet we can still attack them. It is also possible to see the occasional base where stacking has taken place.

Newer versions can attack older versions typically, but not vice versa. If that holds with this hotfix, it will protect you if you have upgraded.

There are a lot of abandoned bases full of loot, and people who are just slow to upgrade. So if it isn't mandatory, the night witches might still be active for a while, but you would be safe from them.
