Layout editor crash

Dear God... this is frustrating beyond belief and has been a bug for quite some time for me and certain players.

I have not for the life of me been able to get into the layout editor for months. I'm unable to easily change my layouts or try new ones!!! Every time I push the button, the game freezes for a second then crashes/closes out. This is such a basic huge feature of improving base defense in the game with more layouts, not to mention layouts are part of what certain players love!

I contacted support and they said it's a known bug, it's also listed in the "list of known bugs" as "Investigating". How long does it take to investigate this?

This crash also occurs on my iPad Air as well. So it's not just on my device. I used to be able to delete the game app and redownload it and the layout editor would work for just that game session only. Then it would crash all game sessions following that first one. This workaround is no longer the case anymore, I redownload and install the game, boom - crash occurs now without fail. I've been stuck on the same layout for months and have been dying to tweak and change it. The fact that not every iOs user has this problem but certain ones do is even more frustrating.

Is anyone else having this issue? and is there any workarounds that work these days?

Can't say i've ever experienced this before, but man that sounds terrible! bravo to you for still playing the game. Hopefully they can resolve this issue and help you out. Hang in there!

I've had the same issue for about 8 months. I think they broke it when they released atomic age. I can edit my normal base but not my warbase. I've contacted cs 3 times and get the same response.

This bug bug is game breaking and they are still only investigating it 8 months down the line. What an absolute joke. Nexon can go f*** themselves, more interested in creating new ways of how to get players to spend more money on their game than fix such an important bug. I've had to quit my alliance because my warbase is so out dated

That's not only sad, but pathetic. I stopped investigating too much anymore because it got too discouraging to find out how long some issues have been going on. But your issue is one of the worst I've heard - game changer. Can't play without a solid war base.

Check the Known Game Issues thread - I have done virtually everything - sent them crash logs, net traffic data, etc.. Im contacting CS once per a week, I think they are fed up already, but they keep answering still in a polite way. Its more than 5 months for me - here and there Im able to edit my war map during the Planning Day, but its just occasionally.
That is what shall not be done with your loyal customers...

I luckily dont have this issue, but damn do I feel for you guys. Just posting and bumping to set some more visibility on this, this is pathetic. The game becomes unplayable without the editor, your war bases must all look like crap..

You have no idea mate. 8 months ago I was half way through enlightenment now I'm towards the end of industrial, but I can't change my warbase so it's missing a lot of defences and walls. This isn't on at all. How does it take 8 months to investigate such a simple issue? I'm so fed up with nexon I find it completely insulting that every patch since it broke hasn't fixed the issue

i read about a possible fix for this issue, i never tried it although i had the same issue and it fixed itself for some unknown reason, i read some place if you can pick up everything in every base town and war in layout editor ! and start again it will fix this issue, worth a try if it works

That's actually what I had in mind about a week ago but I can't even get into the editor at all these days. Ugh. I wish I did that earlier when the workaround I explained in the OP was working.

I sure hope it is fixed in this update. NB4powerup's known bug issues thread says it's still being "investigated", I just hope the post is out of date.

It has to be a server side bug. Not all users experiencing it, and it was working fine until some point after the update for me.
Im sure the game requests you layout definitions from the server and either it does not get it in a timely fashion or the data cant be deserialized/decrypted...
I dont believe it will be solved with the update other than that, that the game will not crash, but instead of it a proper error handling will be developed (i.e. You get a message, that you cant access your maps now, try again later)

I just started getting this yesterday. War Base edit immediately crashes to the iPad home screen. Took some persistence to get in, about 5 or 6 attempts. Then I was able to place my Camel Stable and save it, but today its crashing again and I can't get in. Very frustrating to find out they've known about this and can't fix it.

More and more frustrating is the overall silence from Customer Support ( they are sending me each week the same answer - pls be patient) and a total ignorance of the whole Bugs and Known Issues Topic by the Forum Moderators.... Last comment from them on the 19-12-2016.

Today I have tried 50 times (counted) to access my war or normal base map. Without success... It is really beyond my understanding, why a simple well documented crash cant be fixed.

Nb4powerup, can you please comment on this?
These guys cant acces their Layout editors, a core part of the game. It's not some annoying thingy of losing some points here and there, it's actual gameplay. Which in it's behaviour, sounds like something pretty simple as a rootcause to fix.
(Granted, no clue what could cause it, but as others said, it's well documented, occurs 100% for those affected, as an IT guy sounds like an easy troubleshoot)

Unfortunately the game crashes as soon as I press warbase on the layout editor so this workaround can't work for me and probably everyone else who experiences it

There is nothing else available for the Nb4poweup as the fact that he stated in the list of issues thread.
Its under Investigation. 5 months. I do not even bother to hit that icon after the update... Im used to being neglected.
