New army building; the Habour. Naval troops deploy!

I mainly made this as a creative project, and less because I think it's what the game needs.

The Habour would be placed showhere between the Dock and Marco Polo, and be unlocked in the gunpowder age.

It allows you to train unique naval troops, with more being unlocked as you upgrade the building. Naval troops take up Habour space, and do not take up army space. They can made with either gold or oil. Naval troops would be upgradable for either gold or oil.

The Habour is upgradable in the industrial age and cold war age, each increasing habour space. Starting at 1 harbour space, up to 5 harbour space.

Naval Troops.
Naval troops are deployed near the near, or in the case of the transport, at the beach near land. They all have effectively infinite range, except the transport of course. They can be shot at by defensive towers and defenders. When a naval troop loses all its hitpoints, it is destroyed, which either completely interrupts it effect, or cuts its attack short.

1. Gunship.
When deployed, it fires random burst of bullets. It prefers firing at defenders first. It deals increased damage heavy calvary, and is quite effective against hordes. It shoots for up to 30 seconds, and takes up 2 harbour space.

2. Transport.
Deploys heavy infantry and ranged infantry on the chosen spot near the water. The amount of troops is increased for each level. At the global age, a light tank is also added, plus an additional in the information age. It takes 5 seconds to start deploying, 2-7 seconds to deploy all its troops, and takes up 1 harbour space.

3. Juggernaut. (Unlocked at level 2)
When deployed, it fires powerful cannon shot at random buildings. It has the most health of any naval troops. It shoots for up to 20 seconds and, takes up 3 habour space.

4. Submarine. (Unlocked at level 3)
When deployed, it launces a powerful missile, that leaves a giant radioactive radius, which damages and debuffs towers and defenders. It takes 10 seconds before firing, and takes up 4 harbour space.

I kept things vague, as I think this could be easily unbalanced. But I hope these ideas seemed as fun to you, as they did to me. Feel free to critique, or even give your own ideas. I'd love to see them.

While not a unique idea it has appeal and should offer some nice changes and aesthetics.
The problem with naval deployments or ships is that they will likely only involve the areas of the base close to the shore (except submarine, but that can be countered with mines). As a battle progresses, it invariably moves inland so the naval element will only be viable for 30-40 secs or so at the beginning, then your battle becomes a regular land battle.

That is true. I probably should have mentioned that they would all have infinite range, except the transport of course.

Infinite range?? Mmm, not so sure about that.
If you've seen the movie Flags of our Fathers, that's how the battle should play out. Naval bombardment met with coastal defences, then troop deployment to take the battle further inland.

Well, some realism has to be lost for the sake of gameplay. I have my doubts that a man wielding a rocket launcher would be able to take more bullets than a truck carrying large missiles in real life.

And infinite range of a naval ship is a worthy replacement to reality - gotcha. 😄

In reality more bullets miss the man - a truck is bigger so more bullets hit their mark. 😉
