Most events currently offer resource discounts on upgrades. I wanted to propose a new event type, that will make attack strategies more interesting, enable Nexon to test/balance troops more effectively, and reduce bitter (but fair) complaints from other players that troop balance is out of whack.
We typically have a discount event start on Tuesdays and run 1 week. What if we also had a weekly event that changes stats slightly for a week for a single unit? For example, to celebrate Glenn Curtis, planes could have +10% HP buff for a week. To celebrate the invention of a machine gun, Machine Gun Troop could have +1 range for a week. To celebrate the invention of anti-missile RADAR technology, Missile Silo damage could be reduced by 50% for a week. As you can see, both positive and negative buffs can be applied to the units during this period, depending on Nexon's decision.
This would encourage players to try new combinations, and for Nexon to quickly test which modification work well and which don't without having to make a permanent decision. As a result, I'm hoping that Nexon won't stall with troop balance changes for months, and players will be more happy. Moreover, this would encourage all of us to vary our troop selection, it would even encourage us to be more strategic about which troop cards and mercenaries we pick to balance out our current army.
