I don't know about you, but I am not really that interested in reading the numerous, often re-hashed complaints about the game on Forum. Wouldn't it be great if these posters had one special category all to themselves? One in which they could freely indulge in their passion for grumbling, griping and moaning?

Creative problem-solving, new ideas, sage advice and of course, forum meta-fiction could then frolic freely in the rest of the forum and never the twain shall meet...

It would make more sense to have a complaint free forum. There's only a small handful that stay delusionally (and condescendingly) "optimistic" it seems.

I've been "delusional" from day one it seems...but you know what I'm enjoying the game and that's all I care about. And it's quite a bit different from what it was, so if I had not been "delusional" I'd probably be on the list of forgotten users who were smart enough to quit when things got tough. The phrase "this game is unplayable" has been floating around from the beginning and somehow so many still play it. Anyway, I only care if I enjoy the game anyway, really do not care about the rest of you...at all. :)

Crap...I think that may have come off as condescending...

ped2000 ... that statement was both condescending and contradictory coming from you after your complaining about the loot rewarded in the world wars. Personally I found it insulting.

Some of us like to feel positive about the game, even with its faults etc.

Complaining about complaining? Whew.

I never understand people who whine about players voicing their opinions on aspects of the game. Looking at the front page, I'm not even sure what "grumbling, griping and moaning" threads you're referencing in making this post. Players should have a place to express their frustrations outside of CS with other players. It's how the moderators can gauge players' concerns and address them to the devs as they've done in the past. Besides, the forums would get boring fast if it were only filled with uniform cheerfulness and inside jokes.

Literally everything you mentioned already has a dedicated forum section. Creative problem solving and sage advice? There's a Tactics and Strategy section for that. New ideas can go in the Ideas & Feature Requests section. And forum meta fan-fiction should be placed in the Community section. Let's not clutter the general section with pointless threads when there's so much more that can be discussed about the game.

You got me Ivan, I am complaining about complaining :)

However, as you say other types of posts do have their own categories, so why not one for complaining, or venting?

Simply because this sub-forum already serves that purpose. The description for he General section is ''a place to discuss anything related to DomiNations that doesn't quite fit into the other sub-forums.'' Surely this would include players' frustrations and opinions with game features. And again I'm not sure which particular threads are raining on your parade. People like to discuss the game and at times this includes their grievances. I'm not advocating for an Ethics approach in trashing the game in every post, but actually pointing out the game’s faults with dialogue is more productive than bumping posts with off-topic humor.

I'd much rather let people freely say what they want here as long as it doesn't break any forum rules. If this bothers you, you can ignore the topic or change your settings to ignore the posts of certain members as you suggested in another thread.

There's no need for a Complaint sub forum because, with some slight tweaking, a full on complaint can likely be fit into existing subforums- Bugs and Known Issues, or Ideas and Feature Requests.

For example- this complaint about complaints and creating a complaints subforum would go under the latter subforum mentioned ;)

Lol- as Ivan already mentioned. Guess it helps if ppl read entire threads before posting? Ah well- here's another thing to complain about then!
