Opinion On The Sheer Number of Elephant Archers

Our alliance was thoroughly demolished in our last war. We almost always go 15 v 15 but went 20 v 20 this time around because we had several new members join. Our lowest member was g.a 80 and than it went up from there varying from i.a - atomic. The other side, 5 fairly maxed cold war bases than nearly all global/atomic until the last 3 being 3 iron age lvl 8 bases. It's one of those wars we stood no chance but the glory was also reflective of that as we either gained 825 or lost 30. Of course we were are always willing to give it a shot but not too much as we didn't want to sacrifice troop cards in a loss.

Now getting to my point, every stronghold was full of elephant archers and even down to the iron age bases which was dejecting even for our e.a-g.a players because they felt sad not being able to beat a lvl 8 base without the help of troop cards. Though I'm not cold war myself I assume troop cards go to cold war level as well. So what we were all wondering, is it possible to have that many elephant archers? I may have missed it but I play quite a bit have rarely seen them (If at all) for sale even through crown purchase. Is it just an instance of them purchasing thousands of dollars worth? Just seeing that even though there was no chance for them to lose, they went completely maxed out defensively. That gives you the impression that this is just their normal war routine which is admirable in a way but that means using 65-80 elephant archers every war (I don't know the exact number). Is there a bug that allows you to use troop cards but not technically reduce the number in your inventory? I know there was a bug previously but I thought that was only when using them offensively. Is it just hacks? My alliance members all says hacks but I thought I would ask. It's hard to say just money spent (Unless it's one person) only because of all the bases, there were only 2 that bought the estate. If you're going to spend that much money why not use it for estate right? Thanks for the responses.

They were on sale a few days ago on my account. I don't spend, so no idea how many you could buy, but I don't think there is typically a cap, and some people stockpile.

Rumors a while back had a glitch where you could load SHs full of cards without actually losing them. So they either spent thousands to be sure to win a war that was in the bag, or they cheated. The later seems more likely to me.

Rumor has it that the SH bug either wasn't fixed properly, or a new one has popped up. There are alliances that use 100+ EA cards in every war, and I doubt they are paid for. The way you described this war, it was an easy win for them even without the EA, so the only reason they would still use them is if they aren't actually burning through their inventory. It's unfortunate, but Nexon/BHG seem to be struggling to close all these holes in the game.

Believe it or not, there are people out there with money to burn. The whales. They're in every game like this. They spend money even when it's not necessary.

I would not be surprised at all if someone just bought thousands of EAs and their alliance just uses them every war. There are people who do stuff like that.

I would be surprised that someone claimed that he bought thousands of EAs, but stay at somewhere like 230

I am not 100% sure if its cheat. But almost all Russian and Ukrainian alliances stuff all their bases with EAs even the iron age sandbags. Something is definitely shady and its sad that devs don't even bother to go to root of this. If its genuine well company is getting money. But if it is not purchased with money/crowns they should do something about it.

Romania #3 is our new opponent. Yet again, for the 2nd time in 3 wars. I guess it's admirable that there's no sandbags but 20 bases of elephant archers. We added more g.a-i.a players to war this time around to try and rotate all our players in and they are just getting man handled. 4-8 atomic elephant archers coming at you is no joke. While it's winnable for some of our i.a. players, you really need to be experienced enough to know how to deal with it. It's just very frustrating for people who haven't played the game long and even if they have been, it's doesn't mean they are good enough at attacking to do so. There are a few bases with Maori coalitions so that just adds to the frustration of having to deal with those damn archers. Our saving grace is that they really aren't good at attacking and this is probably there normal war strategy.
