In tim train's latest post, he described how they are releasing the new nation, from somewhere in Asia. After some thinking I've come to the conclusion that the new nation is...... The Mongols. Not only are they one of the biggest empires to ever exist, but they are excellent at siege warfare... I could go into depth, but there is no other nation that comes close besides maybe Egypt of the ottoman empire.

A while back it was written that the next nation would be from Asia. And there was a picture with a link to a Korean website. I guess, the new nation could also be Korea, but the Mongols are a much more prominent choice.

This is interesting. Considering that I'm about fed up with France....I might just have to switch anyways.

Release a nation for the target market. Could be India ... very large population there, good target for Crowns. Or maybe Korea, lots of gamers there... another target for Crowns.

I have a very uneasy feeling about them releasing a new nation amidst all the persistent problems the game currently has.

Perhaps if they used Mongols they'd have raiders as their unique unit. That could be good, if possibly OP...

Any nation is good by me. Mongols were a mess. They showed up they killed. They went home because their khan died from being an alcoholic. They werent tested by being able to hold on, rule their empire. They were a force of destruction but from start to finish they were only in power for a couple short generations. If this game is about powerful, successful nations mongols dont qualify the way egypt, france, romans do

I think that every new nation they add should come with a free "change your nation" ticket (valid only for swapping to the new nation) so everyone could get a ride on it.

Aw. I was thinking they would add Russia, Egypt, Spain, India, or an Arabic nation.

Imo this is a nation game. So a famous but short lived army like huns or mongols without much in the way of established remotely stable nation/empire doesnt count. Its like if they release the green beret nation in space age(not a perfect analogy). A famous effective army does not a nation make. Now.....the mongol weekend event makes way more sense.....

That subtlety dbukalski... Anyway, the Mongols might have been short lived, but they had the biggest land empire the world has ever known. They had a substantial impact on culture and brought back the Silk Road and trade. It was said that a man could walk from one end of the empire to the other with a gold plate on his head and not fear of being robbed. Just saying!

I think Mongols is great and I suggest it should be an offensive nations or rather to be defensive nations based on it's available resources esp food?

I concur with Brown Bear, Mongols was short lived due to they overpowered and had one of the biggest land empire or they had conquered, until they had insufficient armies to defend the cities before they conquer the next world. From the history I readed on Chinese books, Gengkhis Khan or Temujin is a smart general who forced out his live from being a slave in his young age and became a leader at early 20s+.

He quickly formed a group or armies and alliances and then they raided the cities without any mercy. His generals even told him, to retain the opposition's generals or leaders and forced them to be his followers, but most of the late wars that he became stronger, Khan just wanted everyone to be killed and if not mistaken, the number of troops he had killed was equivalent to 1/3 of the current world population.

Korea?

Hmm, I dont see any interesting war history of it except for some parts of the generation after the 3 Kingdoms, where during the occasion of Emperor Qin conquered and unite the whole China, and during this period, Korea was a very unity state and always reluctant to be alliance of the other states of pre-China

Egyptian or even an Arabian nation seem likely, since there isn't one from that region yet.

Pick up your history book and the identity of the new nation is obvious. I'm looking forward to the Global Age!

Mongols is terrible choice. They werent city builders, farmers with walls. They didnt rule an empire. They killed. They squatted in some cities. Then they were gone as fast as they appeared. Something like 80 years from start to finish. Hardly qualify for empire nation status
