Single Person Alliances?

What is the point of all those alliances out there with only one single player and are closed” or Invite only”??? Can someone explain me that? Please..

Technically, a single player can create an alliance and gain:

-The level 1 alliance perk: +20% road income and storage

-Friendly challenges for testing and experimentation

It might also clear some achievements, although I can't recall precisely.

I’m in a solo alliance because I don’t participate in wars. In my experience, not wanting to war irritates alliance leaders, leading to awkwardness or intolerance, so I created my own alliance just for the road income bonus and I do my chatting in forums instead of alliance chat.
