So what aircraft are the Fighter Planes?

Biplanes look like Sopwith-Camels. The Triplane look like the Fokker Dr.I. The Fighter Mk1-3 looks like the Messerschmitt Bf 109, and Mk4-6 looks to be the F4U Corsair. However, I don't exactly know for sure what the Strike Fighters are. I'm guessing that the Mk1-3s are F-86 Sabres? Not sure what Mk4-6 is since I don't really know my aircraft all that well. A little digging around makes me think it's some kind of Lockheed fighter craft, given the wing design, probably an F-94 Starfire?

You are correct. F-94 Starfire for mk4 and F-86 Sabres for mk1-3. both are relatively accurate depictions of fighter jets of the era that the atomic age of this game covers.
