What I’d like to see are DoniNation alliance tournaments with live streams. Where alliances play for incentives, cash and/or in-game bonuses. Clash of Clans are doing this. I truly believe this will invigorate the game. Something totally achievable with the clampdown on cheating.

On a side note, BHG might want to consider the concept of micro transactions. Again something CoC do very well at. People who have cheated in the past, and floated to the top of the game, have done major long term harm to the game, which I don’t think anyone can deny. I’m sure I’m not alone in this, but I refuse to pay to win against these players, especially with the high cost of in game purchases. I’ve considered leaving the game several times in the past as a result of this. I’ve lost count of alliance members and friends who have left the game for these very reasons. Instead, I’ve adapted my playing style, but still refuse to pay despite BHG’s great efforts in stemming the cheating. I would only consider paying these prices if offenders had their bases rolled back or having their bases deleted. Ideally the latter.

To summarise, I think BHG sitting back and allowing the cheating to last as long as it did, while continuously rolling out new features against the will of the community was a mistake, and has depreciated the value of the game. The in game purchases need to reflect that. It’s still a great game with many years of life remaining, but the business model needs to change accordingly. Players have all had to adapt; BHG and Nexon would do well to do the same.

Alliance tournaments sound fun. I'd like to see something like that in the game.

In game purchases are considerably cheaper. CoC’s currency are gems, and they buy a lot more than DomNation’s crowns do comparatively speaking, so they hold more value. Additionally CoC do event seasons much like the new DomiNation’s event system. The difference being is that CoC’s season lasts a whole month for $4.99 with great rewards for completing the challenges, whereas DomiNation’s events typically last a week in excess of $20. Both of which are “build a base” games, and both have their pros and cons. I enjoy both for different reasons, but am more inclined to make purchases in CoC as I don’t mind spending a couple of dollars here and there. The worker to building ratio also makes a lot more sense in CoC, as do the speedups. It keeps the game flowing, engaging and subsequently a bigger player community. DomiNations has everything it needs to compete and build revenues if they just did some proper evaluations of their business model.

One of the best comments I've see lately. Sadly, I don't think this game has the player base to make the money they're looking for by selling things at reasonable prices on volume anymore. It's almost like when you make a conscious decision to cater only to the very highest spenders, and NEVER do anything to lower barriers to entry for f2p and lower spenders you find yourself backed into a smaller and smaller corner.

Most of the biggest spenders maxed their museum ages ago I'd bet. The difference between a 260 'digital age' and 360 is so obscene that you aren't even playing the same game anymore. Craziest of all, despite the token gestures of speedups and dual armory, library slots IT STILL TAKES THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME TO UPGRADE AS IT DID ON DAY ONE. Hell, it probably takes longer because now there's the university, museum, archive etc. to consider. So now they're locked into a cycle of overcharging for everything by about 3 to 4 times what most would consider reasonable.

Whales don't spend money to be challenged against other whales. Yet this game can't seem to wrap it's head around the necessity of making things reasonable for the plankton they need to feed on. Most of the infrastructure and work has been done. But without a conscious effort to make the game more manageable for someone who starts today I'm afraid we're locked into this cycle of high prices and new ages, troop cards and artifacts being rushed out to placate the sole market this game has left.

There's an obvious market for luxury in the real world. In a game that has a steady player base of a million, at best, catering only to big spenders will get you to where we are today. Only so many artifact slots and if you have 85% to all towers across the slots where it's relevant, who needs troop cards? So the 0.01% are satiated and they're basically left to prey on the 0.1% who think they're this close to catching up.

In addition to this new (renewed) focus on dealing with cheating it would be awesome if there was a massive reduction in upgrade times and a massive marketing push for the game's 5 year anniversary. Since the whole game doesn't really start until industrial age a newbie should be able to get there in 3 months. One should be able to have a meaningful, i.e.- not super rushed and practically defenseless, atomic base within a year. Whether this is accomplished by a flat reduction of upgrade time or huge influx of speedups is up to the PTB. Hell, there's probably a market for upgrade packages too, but those should be more option than necessity, and reasonably priced. Honestly though, I get the sense that the game is profitable enough to keep going but well past the point of such an investment on the balance sheets. One can dream, however.

Still a fun time waster and all that, it just sucks that it could be so much bigger and better than it is if the publisher and/or devs weren't so myopic.

A few clarifications. The game has more than 3.5 million accounts, but no more than 200-300 thousand of them are active. There are more than 16 thousand alliances, of which there are not even a thousand active ones. This is never cleaned.
The p2w model continues to destroy the game. In such circumstances, the prices remain excessively inflated, from which we can conclude that the current owner is not going to develop the game, we can only hope that the owner will change soon. This game could be great, but it will be harder to fix it the further it goes..
