This is what we use
9= 1 mortar, 3 Shooters
12= 2 Mortars
15= 1 Artillery,Cannon, etc and 1 Mortar
18= 2 Artillery or 3 mortars depending on who donates
21= 1 Artillery and 2 Mortars
24= 2 Artillery, 1 Mortar
27 and 30= 3 Howitzers
Mortar is by far better than Black Watch in my opinion. I have done lots of experimenting with defensive donations and honestly the best donations for Town Center defense is Artillery and Mortars. Mortars will wipe out foot and shooters even quicker than Artillery due to their spread damage.

How about bazookas? Anyone tried them on Defence before? Seems like the first targets which go near your TC would be usually heavy Calvary or tanks. Arti is less useful with those meat shields around but deadly when they manage to bypass them and aim at the support troops behind.
Well thats true, but I think it can be useful only on specific bases. If you have walls around there or obstacles, bazookas sucks as they cant shoot over walls...and they dont have splash damage. (USA elite tried that lot of times earlier in the yeear, I read that somewhere)
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think now all defensive troops can shoot over walls.
I know for sure now tanks and rifled footies can shoot over walls. So maybe bazookas can too.
Although their range can be very small indeed.
