Unable to join alliance

My son is unable to join my alliance/clan. Eveytime we try it says "unable to join at this time, please try again later." My alliance/clan is not full either.

The minimum is still 200 medals to start multiple battle. Can your son attack other bases yet?

This might be an obvious one but is your son at least iron age or better? He cannot join alliances being at any ages lesser than that

the exact requirement is to repair the Alliance Gate.

Yes he has 230 medals. So he's able to attack other bases. Yes he has repaired the alliance gate. Yes he's iron age. Thanks for all the replies thus far!
