What is with the overly sensitive profanity filter?

My alliance's name was Drinking Class, which the filter arbitrarily changed to Drinking Cl*** about two months ago. Now I just changed our alliance motto to 'No Silent Treatment' helpfully filtered to 'No Silent Tr*****nt' in order to avoid sensitive souls from encountering the scandalous phrase 'Eat Me' I suppose.

As far as lingering bugs and issues go this doesn't even make the Top 100 but I sure am curious what kind of prude is setting these filters in the first place? Afterall, it's not uncommon to find edgelord alliances with the name Third or Fourth Reich that don't seem to upset the applecart.

So much for becoming the Classy Assassins I guess. Or is that Cl***y ******ins?

Anyways.. to counter this, use alternate font letter for A, example : â. So it will be Clâss.
Or use Russian keyboard and use its A letter.

Older alliances are not effected by censorship, only those created this year, I suppose.

I live in England in the county of E55ex. Had to replace S with 5. So if I can't search or name my alliance something E55ex why others, best example is Russian alliance, called (in Russian) "Beer, 5Ex, Rock".

Seems to me there's only a filter for English language but what about all other languages, do Nexon control all of that? Well clearly not.

For the record I support this filtering.
It meets the requirement for clean language game. All other games I have played also have this setup. They even censor their company name when we type in-game.

I think it doesn't only filter English. Chinese also has this clean language setup. I don't know for other languages.

Give me a break, it's one thing to filter words that you have to wait until after the watershed hour to hear. Like my glorious ****ake mushroom risotto recipe, for instance. This filter has gone way overboard banning phrases, within other words mind you, that wouldn't even make the most prudish MPAA censor give something a PG-13 rating.

I remember 'Eat me' was Slim Jims' advertising tagline after their association with the late, great Randy Savage ended.

Bootney, DomiNations is rated 7+ of course it has to be family friendly.
With our moral degrading society these days, eat me has replaced its default meaning.
Besides there's a workaround to write Class in alternate keyboard right? I'm sure people will easily read and join

I loved that someone took the time to key in "eat me," who even says that anymore? That seems a bit expensive. Overall I dont see a problem with censorship, nexon is a private company they have no obligations to uphold free speech. The gay Nazi thread is a perfect example as to why there needs to be censorship otherwise you'd have an army of edgelords trying stir things up because they dont get enough attention in their real lives.

I don't think the issue is with censorship, the issue is the lazy way that they implemented it.

That, and the fact that it only seems to affect alliances that are new or ones that have changed things on their alliance page within this calendar year. The burnt out husk of the original Drinking Class is untouched, for example. Ultimately it doesn't matter to us as we've upped our game and become Drinkin Academy. The character limit forced us to lose the G. It's just a funny little example of focusing on the wrong things, imo.
