Why do we need 24 hours to prepare for a war?

Is there any point in such a long "preparation" period?

I can understand the war itself needs to last 24 hours so that everyone, wherever they are in the world, gets a chance to make their attacks. However, I can't see anything you can do during the preparation period that you can't just do during the 24-hour War period. i.e. scouting enemy bases, donating troops to allies, discussing who attacks whom etc.

I love the addition of the World War, it's really added an extra dimension to what was becoming rather a dull grind with upgrades now taking over a week etc, so, as a result, I would love to see more of them than, at the very best, one every two days. We could even have multiple wars going on at the same time! It would give us something to do when we're tied up with upgrades...

If there is a good reason for the 24-hour preparation period and I've just missed it then please say....if not, would it not be better to just get rid of it?

I think the donate part is the most problems! If you start attack when the other side is sleeping and didn't have donate troops in time...!

But how about donate before go to War search?!!

But does anyone really absolutely rely on donated troops? Do they really make that much of a difference to anyone? I see them as more of just an extra bonus...a minor one at that!

I, personally, have my standard winning troop combinations & strategies using just my own troops and do fine with that since you never know what you're gonna get from donated troops.

yes, the Industrial donated troops in defense is often a game changer for lower ages bases, if managed right!

You can adjust. For example, iIf you get a donated tank, delete 3 of your horses and build 1 more cannon. If you get a artillery, then delete 1 of your cannon and builds more horse.

Yeh, good point. I selfishly hadn't thought of it the other way round since the game puts me at number 1 in my alliance so troops I receive are usually pretty pointless. Doh!

However, now I do think about it, I'm sure my tanks, artillery etc make a huge difference to the lower level people I donate them to. Doh!

It must be great to be in classical/medieval and suddenly have a tank with 20k HP, eh?

But, surely, if someone wants a particular troop from me they can ask for it during general play and then keep it for the war? Although, I can see the temptation to use it in normal attacks and steamroll a similiar-level base!

The Troops donated to the war bases are strictly defensive troops which spawn from your TC. I think you are confusing the two different ways to donate in War.

24 hour preparation days are definitely necessary since there are people from all over the world who are up at different times, everyone needs equal time to donate and prepare for the war.

yes the 24 hours is needed for war defense donation (I'm not going to elaborate because it's going to reveal our strategy). You clearly don't understand all the strategy involve with war, so please don't complain. Makes you look foolish.

Strategies like swapping between war bases before war day starts? Negating enemy scouting?

Totally necessary. Clash of Clans have been working totally fine with that system for ages.

And indeed, when they recently changed it to 23 hours, people isn't as happy as it's worse...

So yes, it's 24 hour preparation, 24 hour war, you can do a war every two days. :)

The one day preparing is mostly because donating time, that can be fixed using donating before doing war search.
The second reason is let people around the world have time to scout and receive advises from top players in different time zone, but most of the alliance will not use this feature. And the ability to change war base make the feature useless in high ranking war.

So let's us see the war bases in our Alliance and donating troops before doing the war seach, then the war will last only 1 days. Everyone will be happy.

When artillery comes out of a town center and destroys all ground troops it's a game changer.

The reason for the 24hr prep time is to give people a chance to spend crowns to finish upgrades. You're matched with an opponent based on what you have when you push the war button, so rushing upgrades with crowns can give your team an advantage. #paytowin

Yes, sorry about that and thanks for telling me. I hadn't even noticed there was a separate donation option inside the war map. Maybe I should read the instructions first more often... :)

Why do you see it as a complaint not a question? I did add question marks and presumed that would give it away...

I was merely asking for reasons why it needed to be 24 hours when the actual war is 24 hrs itself? I did say in my original post that I understand you needed at least 24 hrs so everyone, wherever they are in the world, can get their go, make their donations etc, but just thought 48 was a bit excessive in a world of 24-hr days and wondered what other people's views on the subject were!

I can clearly see I'm in the minority, which is fair enough. Point taken. I was just enjoying the war aspect of things and selfishly wanted to do more of it! ;)

I don't know every aspect of war strategy and can be quite foolish sometimes so you were right there though. I quite enjoy being foolish to be honest since life, in general, can be quite dull...
