Love DomiNations so far. It truely feels like the best of both PC and mobile worlds in terms of gameplay, art, and overall design. However, as many good ideas there are so far, I feel some moderate risk should be taken to stand away from the masses of this genre.
I mod PC games as a hobby and I understand the time it takes to develop new features, testing, polishing, exploits etc. So I'll try to keep this as a simple request that has bigger reward.
World map:
Every MMORTS mobile game lacks one thing. A sandbox world PvP/PvE map. To fight an opponent, you click "Next", its convenient, but feels arcadey. MMO's with a sandbox world map lack battle instances similar to CoC and Dominations. These two trade offs mirror each other and the reason why it hasnt really been created well is because its a ton of work and will spread a game thin, a development team even thinner.
What if we could slowly work towards some middle ground? Like an Alliance sandbox world map. Where Alliances choose their place in the world and based on their size and strength, can fight other alliances from one singular "Territory" that the entire alliance would be apart of. (this can expand later into more complex systems). The battles must factor in army travel, among other typical MMO sandbox strategies within a world map. If all players cannot participate in a fight, one player or commander can control all troops, while others can spectate. This would apply to both PvE and PvP points.
Not just PvP would occur in this sandbox alliance wars map, but AI clans would rise and fall, attack or defend. Obviously much is later game and a simple implementation of this would be best to get people excited.
Ill update this thread more if I think of more detailed systems in which this could work better. Thanks guys and keep up the good work!
UPDATE:
So in accordance to the "Alliance Stake on the world map"(updated above text), what if all the individual players cities in the alliance would be relocated to this "Alliance Territory" of the world map. So if another alliance attacked this "Territory", they would be able to select which base to attack once their army gets to the "Territory" where all alliance members reside. Basically something along these lines.
