Wrong scaling...

Hey guys,

I try to play Dominations on my Fire HD 10. But when I start the game it's zoomed in (nearly) fully and I can't zoom out respectively see more of the map.

There's also no possibility to adjust anything display-related in settings.

Does anyone have a hint for that issue? Maybe it's a missing media library in system or something like that, because I'm not able to play any videos (neither daily rewards nor fast troop replacement -once a day- after a fight).

Thanks in advance...

I'm pretty certain you can't play DomiNations on Fire, because it belongs to Amazon and I also believe you playing a "solo" version of Dominations, meaning you get to play the game but you're not connected to live events, videos and Marco Polo.

I'm saying this from experience, when I bought FIRE for my second account I've experienced exactly what you describing, so get yourself an Android or IOS and play the real thing.

Even a real android device isn't guaranteed to give you the full game. Google Play store gives you the version (low res or full) depending on what it thinks your hardware can handle. I think they have a list of devices that are tested (or evaluated) to be hi-res, and all other devices get the low-reps version. The Fire HD 10 hardware should be able to handle the full game, but because it is not a device known to the Google play store, it gets the low-res version.

There are many popular games available through the Amazon store, but Dominations is not one of them. Why not? Does Amazon take a bigger cut? Is the validation process more difficult?

Thanks for your reply.

I'm able to play Dominations on my Fire, the only problem is the lack of scaling and missing videos. Everything besides that is available, also Marco Polo. Also multiplayer fights, live events and wars are no problem and wokring fine...besides, as mentioned, the missing possibility of being able to zoom out.

I played dominations on an iPad for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I was looking forward to seeing the whole of the map on my screen, an end to scrolling across when zoomed out; and smaller icons relative to display size.

NOPE. I can actually see less of the map than on my iPhone 5s due to the aspect ratio. Really poor. iPad (and android tablets) should be able to zoom out further to take advantage of the bigger screen and there is no need for the icons to be so HUGE.

So why aren't you all complaining to the phone companies instead of on here?
It's not Nexon's fault there are different screen ratios out there. 4:3 9:6 16:9 18:9, etc.
:D

It’s not the manufacturer that controls the zoom level of the game lol. Plenty of games have deliberate tweaks dependent on resolution / aspect ratio to best utilise the device. Unfortunately not this one...

It has to be a high definition device to get videos I use a old tablet for my 3rd base which is not HD and I have the same issue I put up with it.

You and Davina are absolutely right, it's not manufacturer's duty to do anything one could think of to get the device as compatible as possible. Devices are published as is with the needed hardware to work properly.

The developers of apps/games have to develop their stuff as compatible (to any device) as possible.

However, it's understandable that not all games are compatible with every device.
Developers work to make the game compatible with most devices, that means most popular OS and hardwares that customers use.

Every negative comment on this game is a first world issue. Nobody is crying themselves to sleep over Nexon game design (at least I hope not). However; by highlighting areas to improve, the hope is something will be done about it, thus making the game more enjoyable for all.

No arguments there but it's naive to expect game designers, for any game, to cater for everyone.
I changed phones recently and went from 9:6 to 16:9. Lost a bit of the screen at the top and bottom without scrolling. I survived and kept playing.

For certain player requests yes; but in this instance, enabling an additional level of zoom when the screen size is larger than X would infact cater for everyone.

Amen! This is really needed. I play almost solely on an iPad and I see much less of the map and only a third of my army buttons because they are so huge...
