Your style should determine which way you go but either the Germans or Brits are good choices. If you have an all brit archer army you get the 15% bonus dps all the time plus the +1 range. The teutonic fury is only there aftere a win. But the quicker rallies are very useful for ''blitzkrieg'' battling.
My recommendation? Sorry but they're both appealing.

My choice will probably be British because I am such a huge fan of archers and I am growing a love for using war tactics. I also hate medals and recently bumped up 475 for a timed quest and I am now attacked every time I'm off and I don't like the idea of having to win to gain the extra damage. And I also think the Brit will lead to plenty of fun for two ages and maybe further.

But my gut doesn't SCREAM German, but quietly whispers it....

As for the German benefit of Teutonic Fury, all that you'll need to do is to gain at least one star in a battle to gain the advantage, which isn't difficult at low medal ranges. A TC snipe gets you one, or two stars if you do it within the first minute of the battle.

People here are taking a balanced view, and are sharing their experiences. The decision will ultimately have to be your own

Flash, I did read that. It was very helpful. Much of the way I make a decision is to already have a path/decision picked out in my mind and allow my peers advice to slightly or helpfully sway me or alter my direction enough to make the right choice. Ultimately, this is a hard decision for me and I hope my indecision hasn't led to the frustration of other members here. Another reason I try to be over the top when thanking members here for taking the time to comment. The advice is truly valued.

Also, in case you haven't joined an alliance yet, I would definitely recommend that you join one. That'll be an easy and quick way to get your questions answered, and you'll enjoy the company of active players, and you'll be able to pick their brains and learn from their experiences. Feel free to choose from any of the active alliances. I see that kirsteym invited you earlier on this thread to join them, so, you might want to consider his/her invitation.
It'll definitely enhance your game play experience when you are a part of an alliance. And, if you can participate in wars with your alliance, you'll get some good war loot, which will also help you in developing your base with upgrades.

As _Flash_ said, the decision is yours. That's precisely why I've been giving you snippets of what a nation can do - rather than telling you which one to choose. ''teach a man to fish'' kinda thing.

Most of us here are mature enough to acknowledge the individual pros and cons of each nation. Each nation caters to each of our individual purpose. My best nation might not be suitable for or preferred by the next guy. No point forcing our preference down each other's throat.....

Lol, BV, from day one I assumed I was around people who were mature enough not to call each other dumb or stupid or a big poopy face for that matter. I was only joking.

And dun dun dun, I resisted crowning to medieval age early and took that opportunity to upgrade a few things this little noob has neglected, now I have a peace treaty, I'm all stocked up, everything is maxed and this American/not really sure yet, Brit maybe will be during off a revolution against Chinese oppressive rule. Wish me luck, as your guidance has been helpful.

Another random question...

I had only been attacked just a couple times until recently. Now my medals have gone up and it seems like every time I want to get on I receive this, totally new to me, message saying I'm being scouted or being attacked.

My question for you guys is, can you only be attacked while your logged off? Subsequently, I'm assuming if this is true then there will be no way to increase your idle activity time before the game asks you to reload?

It's rare but frustrating nontheless. That 'scouted' screen can last minutes but usually less than minute. And yes, the higher you climb the more you will be scouted/attacked. If you stay under about 1200-1400 you will get attacked for rss. Above that it's more likely for medals (or both).
Now, how to design your base for those scenarios .....?!

And you can be attacked as you're 'about' to log on - you'll get a screen telling you you're under attack.

You remind me of the time i switched from Jap to British. In an instant it changed the game for me. I would probably recommend french for the tanks or british for the ranged. As pointed out earlier you seem to have morphed towards archers so british seems logical. A lot of the fun in the early days is trying out different styles and army compositions.

All i can talk about is what I know. Archer heavy british armies now will see you comfortably through the game. Once you hit IA you can reevaluate. Im at EA now and with ranged, a few hc, mortars and carts my army can see off manys the IA base. In war its noticeable.
