i like to visit opponents during planning day ... it's sometimes quite positive.
you get to visit another micro-culture, give them challenges of your base when appropriate, etc.
it's a friendly-ambassador thing.

sometimes it's quite fun, with visiting back and forth.
sometimes i get kicked immediately ... which is uncomfortable.
imo there's no "spying" that makes sense. i've never understood that; there's nothing to discover.

Some teams have war plans posted or what coalitions will be used etc.
Some ask whether SH will be filled or not and with what.
There can be FRCs up and you can do a unit drop, watch a replay and snap the base traps.
etc etc So its very uncomfortable in fact ...

huh ... okay comment taken, but i've never seen that -- i think we don't play in a competitive enough glory range.

You can also view your opponent's war history. They might have fought an alliance you also faced recently, and you can see how they did.

There really should be a way to communicate, at least leaders to leaders of the alliances, without sending someone over in game to talk. Then you could have the interaction and agree on terms for the war without sending over a visitor. Who might be fine, but might be treated as a spy, or actually spy.

The whole problem is that Nexon is missing something that should be basic functionality for a team vs team game.

Agree. In several games there is special feature where only leaders and councils to communicate.

Why only leaders? A war chat would be one possible aproach to get some more human interaction into the game. It could be switched when entering the war screen such that there both alliance's members could post and read each others chat messages.

But to be honest, they did not yet get the normal chat working consistently so I do not have much trust they can handle this request. I mean, troop requests disappear, messages are not posted if logged out to early,...
Guaranteeing transactional properties for comunication via unreliable networks is for my understanding a technically solved problem.

alegs my suggestion was only leaders because it reduces the chance of degenerating into bad language and name calling.

Our alliance is clean language, because we have some kids. And we boot people who disregard that. Many alliances don't have that standard - which isn't an issue for our leaders communicating, but I wouldn't want everyone connected to whoever we randomly matched this time around.

That’s a valid point. We are consistently 25+ and some of us have a viable for dirty language.
Anyhow, if it gets mean, we just kick, too.

I personally dont see a need. Many of the alliances my team get matched against are from non English speaking countries, and those that do speak English doubtfully have anything worthwhile to say. Could you imagine getting stacked against noangels alliance? it would be filled with gay nazi trash talk. I dont see what productive conversation could possibly come out chatting with opponents.

Punch in the face Trout! Talking trash eh?!
Our alliance is warm hearted, a bunch of people from age 8-56 😆 The nazi gay talk is for other community, no such thing in home talk 😝
We have diversed people from all continents (except maybe Antarctica, I welcome penguins and whales though)
