Enjoy increasing boosts to your economy as the season goes on. There were five close calls between the United States and the U.S.S.R. that almost resulted in worldwide nuclear war.

On November 4, 1983, American armed forces began the Able Archer 83 wargame, designed to simulate military response to the outbreak of nuclear war. The U.S. airlifted 19,000 troops to Europe and changed its alert status to DEFCON-1. These movements matched Soviet predictions for how the U.S. would react if they were getting ready for war, and they prepared a counterstrike in case the wargame was a ruse for a real attack. The Soviets stayed on alert for a full week until the wargame concluded. Years later, declassified documents revealed that war almost broke out as a result of these exercises.

One thing I highly appreciate of this game is these historical lines that accompany everything in the game, from units, to leaders, to events etc.
