Absurdly Long Upgrade Durations?!

Upon upgrading the Town-Center to the Enlightenment Age; I was able to build the Oil Well and Oil Refinery to build the Factory for improved troop units.

With lots of specials and sales occurring due to the holiday season, I was fortunate to have a large supply of oil to spend on upgrading the Machine Gun Infantry.

Does anybody else find that six days to upgrade a mid-tier troop unit to be strangely longer than normal? Fortunately, I have almost enough Crowns to unlock a secondary slot in the Armory and upgrades do not require Citizens - allowing me to focus on other priorities within my base.

The wiki offers all upgrade times; so in this case, that sort of time is expected:

Machine Gun Infantry

we have to warn you...

industrial age brings a huge step to upgrade times.
Digital - info upgrades take 15-17 days
Drone 18+

For 1 upgrade in drone age you can do travel around the world until is finished
