Another unique troop for Japanese?

When I first chose my nation as the Japanese, I was expecting Samurais and Ninjas. And to my satisfaction, there were actual Samurai troops, but the thing that made me a bit sad was the lack of the ninjas. Ninjas have always had a formidable presence in Japan throughout nearly all of their ages (even today, ninjas are one of their major themes in anime). I would feel that the Japanese empire would be complete, in a way, if we have ninjas as some form of troop (maybe replace those horse raiders with ninjas?). Any thoughts?

I was hoping for Ninjas too. Maybe they can make it equivalent to a sniper unit to take out infantry units since ninjas are usually for assassination missions.

Lol, Japanese are already op as it is, why would they get another troop? Each nation has one unique troop, so if they do add ninjas, samurais would be removed.

that makes no sense from a historical point of view (which this game is about) ninjas were [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]not warriors

and to be more precise, ninja didn't "exist". as that word is the chinese pronunciation. the japanese word is "shinobi"

shinobi were disgraced samurai who were forced to live a simple non-noble life as villagers, and developed a way to "survive"
eventually teaching their methods to their small village as a way to avoid the samurai who prayed on communities
their methods were staying hidden, and if caught to escape (not fight)
shinobi literally means "clandestine" which in case you don't know, means "hidden because illicit"

some daiymo eventually hired them to spy on rival clans

the mythical or pop culture version of "ninja" didn't exist, they were folk stories just like hercules etc
the greeks shouldnt have hercules as much as japanese shouldnt have ninja
and there is no role for shinobi in the game

Japanese word is shinobi, but the english word is ninja. Not a big difference. Actually, your history is not 100% complete. Shinobis/ninjas also worked as covert troops and mercenaries which included "espionage, sabotage, infiltration, and assassination, and open combat in certain situations."
I guess ninjas could be another type of mercenary troop then? And I'd disagree that the Japanese are OP.

Here's my idea, if ninjas are to be implemented in the game, the devs should make it so that it does increased damage to generals. If they make ninjas into a merc, then make the troop size 1 and cost a lot of trade goods. If ninjas are an actual unit, then the devs should create a whole new class of unit, the spy whose goal is to kill the general, as usually that's their goal in the battlefield and that they are usually invisible to defenders/defense unless spotted by a tower. From this the Japanese will get the spy who has some unique trait, maybe quicker speed or something.

In order to prevent people from being like "why should I even get a general then", nexon should improve the generals by giving them Rise of Nation type mechanics, where troops within their sphere of influence gain bonus attack, defense, speed etc and the generals can get special abilities like in Rise of Nation that enhance the battlefield. That way generals are more of a threat for which spies can be used to counter.

Moreover, maybe the way people can get spies/ninjas is by building a specific building available during either the\ medieval era that allows recruitment of spies or produces a lone spy as defense against generals. In order to counter spies while on the offense, players can use the supply cart which provides vision of the spy. Therefore, supply carts are even more useful and not only do they heal but provide defense against spies.

Just my idea, what do you guys think :D

Espionage and spying are the same thing! At least know what you are talking about if you are going to try and correct other people. Sabotage, inflitration, assassination are all things that spies do. It makes no sense to make them a mercenary unit, as they were not warriors, they were spies.

In real life, there is nothing special about "ninja" compared to any other spy. The ancient world had them, the dark and middle ages had them, and present day have them. In fact, if anyone should have a unique spy unit (if spies could somehow be added to the game, don't see it being possible), it should be the Greeks and Romans, as their spies were pivotal in creating their empires, as were Mongolian spies in conquering Asia. Pop-culture shouldn't be added to the game, but then again, people are calling for giant-mechs and other anime bull****

This game is about history! The devs actually want people to go learn about history from playing this game. Being a 5 minute google expert and copying and pasting something from the wikipedia doesn't mean you know what you are talking about, how about you actually LEARN and COMPREHEND something before debating something

Lol what do you mean by replacing the horse raiders with ninjas? It makes sense that it is a tank unit which is not applicable for ninja whom we know is stealthy and tricky. I think they suit well in cavalry raider which specialize in looting resources. And btw each nations have only 1 unique unit so you better choose of that samurai and ninja lol
