Are there Museum effect limits?

I just updated a museum artifact's "Looted Resource Refund" and I think I saw a message that I have reached the "Looted Resource Refund" limit of 85%.

is this true?

if so are there limits on other artifact effects and if there are, can anyone document what these limits are?

I'm sure everything has a limit of 85%. The exception to the rule being, say you have all defensive tower damage at +100% & your opponent has all enemy defensive tower damage at -15%. Your damage will remain at +85%. If your opponent has no buffs in the category your damage will be +85%, never +100%.

In fact, this restriction is necessary! It is reasonable to limit the improvement of any property, say... to 50%.

Saw it again. There is definitely an 85% limit (museum artifact + blessing) on "Looted Resource Refund"

Anyone know for sure about the limits, if any, on other effects? Maybe TinSoldier could chime in on this instead of having other players guessing.

I think many know for sure about the limits, but there’s no easily stated rule and who feels like tapping out a book on the forum.

Basically anything that can be offset by opponent bonuses has a 85% max. And anything where there isn’t an opponent offset may have a limit if 100% would be OP, like looted resource refund.

Note that the limits include bonuses from blessings in MP.

Probably „Looted refund“ is limited as you can’t get more back as was stolen. Rss looted is definitely not limited. Tbh I don’t care about looted refund, have not one line.

We do not know exactly how the limits work (rather, exactly what the 85% limit does and does not apply to); and nobody in this thread has stated it accurately.

We also aren't 100% certain how/when the limit is applied.

One cannot help but wish clearer/better limits were in place when running up against something like "153% All Defense Towers Hitpoints"; good luck attacking that base. Percentages like this show how the museum has taken over the game.

Actually here is the answer above. The Museum makes misalignments in the game. Loot can not be limited, but for everything else, even 20-30% is already essential.

To be precise, we don’t know how anything actually works when it comes to bonuses. We can only go by the listed values and our few experiments. I guess that makes us even with CS :/

Everybody can build his museum that it is very good. Only thing you need is luck to get four excellent lines. And you changed those artifacts if you are crafting enough.

All enemy troops and objects damage reduction and hitpoints reduction effects are limited with 85%. It makes sense as reducing hitpoints of an object to -100% would mean the object is destroyed already. The same is true with the damage reduction, you shall not be able to reduce damage to 0.
Probably some other effects (like the mentioned loot refund) also got capped (to disallow profiting from over 100% loot refund, might have been the idea behind - imagine 120% loot refund and you place your oil ref on the edge of the map)

The general rule is negative valued stuff is capped whereas positive valued stuff is not as otherwise insanity would rule supreme. It's common sense. However, every rule has exceptions and this is no different. Loot Refund is one such exception but google around for specific details/guides on how best to utilize loot refund.
