Campaign for the Training blessing to apply to all Airstrip troops!

I don't believe that it's been mentioned here, but I wanted to point out a place that Airstrip training time is located: The Power Plant.
First available during the two-year anniversary event, the Power Plant adds both a boost to Food, Gold, and Oil production, and a reduction to Tactics Training and Airstrip Troop Training times.

More recently, it was a possible item in a Mystery Chest from Marco Polo.

thats great, but it doesnt help us the 50 other weeks of the year we dont have that building.

Also to note; that power plant is a 25% improvement. A full rebuild on my planes takes 50% longer than a full rebuild on my troops, so it doesn't even close the gap completely at the best of times. But then a training blessing shortens the regular troop training dramatically, so there is a huge time mismatch again. If you need planes for every battle, and you are in an upper league with frequent complete wipes, you are usually waiting on planes / tactics, not regular troops.

I have been away for two weeks; back now and very happy that the thread keeps generating interest and feedback. Let us hope the training blessing will be applied to Airstrip troops in not too distant future!

You could all upgrade to the Atomic age and then you can get the Pentagon which reduces airstrip training times by 20%. :D

This is certainly a good option for those who choose it to speed up plane production in addition to, not replacing, the dire necessity to cover Airstrip units by the training blessing umbrella.

I don't think the training blessing should cover airstrip troops. I could get on board with a new airstrip blessing reducing airstrip training time by 20-25%. That plus the Pentagon will speed things up a lot. If you're losing planes each battle though, then you're probably deploying them haphazardly or you're attacking a base with really strong defenses. In either case, I think that is part of the cost of making such an attack and allowing planes to train way too quickly would be a mistake. I would hate to see people just storming bases with planes without any finesse because they aren't worried about the time it takes to re-train them.

It still costs 2000+ oil to retrain 4 Fighter Mk. 4, with each upgrade seemingly adding 50 oil per plane. That alone precludes most people from throwing them around all willy nilly. I doubt people started casually throwing around heavy tanks after factory troops were added to the blessing for the same reason.

These airplane training times are absurd, and the lack of anything beyond the Pentagon or a temporary event building to speed things up just doubles down on the absurdity.

The much lamented and/or ballyhooed tactical helicopter trains in less time at a fraction of the cost. Fighters pretty much require at least 2 to be effective, there's no reason they shouldn't sync better with the rest of one's army.

A separate blessing is fine but it needs to be the same 66% as the regular training blessing.

I agree with Master Contrail Program. In addition, if we follow the proposed logic to the end, we do not need the training blessing at all to discourage haphazard deployment and attacks on strong bases for all units, not just planes.

However, we do have the training blessing and therefore it must apply to all troops including the Airstrip.

Pity there was nothing about this issue in the latest State of the Nations address. Hopefully next time.

While I do agree with you that losing all 4 planes costs quite a bit of oil to retrain and is enough to deter absolutely reckless deployment that results in losing the entire squadron. Making planes a lot quicker to retrain might cause some players not to flinch at the prospect of losing and having to retrain 1-2 planes. Right now, every plane is precious and I personally enjoy the challenge of deploying them to maximum effect while trying not to lose a single fighter. I still feel that a new blessing should be created separately just for aircraft training (preferably using diamonds and metal). I don't feel like the current training blessing needs to cover aircraft and I don't think it needs to be the same at 66%. That's still just my opinion though.

Thanks to all of you sticking with this campaign and keeping it alive. I understand that gloom might be settling in for lack of feedback from the developers but I remain optimistic that we shall be heard!

Let's keep it on top. There is no reason Air units are not treated the same way than factory and barrack troops.

We are in the process of scheduling out new features that will be included for the rest of the year.

There is no new airplane blessing scheduled for the next release (5.8), and the Power Plant remains the best way to boost plane production by 25%.

I know it's not the news you've been looking to hear, but I thought a small update on our release plan would be good.

This is indeed not quite what we were hoping for but many thanks for the update. The plant building is not a permanent feature so difficult to rely upon exclusively.

Perhaps our respectfully continuing plight will be addressed in the update after.

I support this idea. The still need to adjust planes though even if they do implement this. If original target is destroyed just make them retreat rather than circling around towers.
