Carnaval is one of the biggest annual celebrations in Brazil. The word roughly means ‘farewell to meat’ as the holiday takes place at the beginning of Lent, when Catholic tradition forbade various pleasures such as meat eating. The festival historically highlighted the clash between the wealthy Portuguese and the poor or enslaved Africans. On Carnaval, social classes are ignored, the rich mingle with the poor, and everyone escapes into a colorful fantasy world. (Event lasts from 15:00 UTC 02/07 until 15:00 UTC 02/16.)

Excellent! Was a little concerned when I checked into the game at 15:00 but that must of not been UTC (being English I find time zones very confusing). Discounts, now showing, a great time to do my Mk6 heavy!!

Make the tactics training time reduction permanent. 5 hours to retrain your tactics is ridiculous.

The whole trainingtime reduction for this event should be permanent!!

This is a wargame. Or at least, it used to be.
This event finally brings that justice again and it now feels more like Dominations again, which time me was always about attacking.
Without this event it feels like farmville with doing 1 attack and waiting a long time doing nothing waiting for lost troops and tactics and planes to rebuild.
Especially since the latest patches which have been buffing Defense like crazy!

These reduced times will keep people more engaged and more likely to spend money even.
So its a win win situation.

I agree wholeheartedly with this.

This event is amazing. I'm fighting at 2000 medals without tactics nor planes (upgrading buildings) as a rushed Atomic with a half-Global army, and I don't have to wait years for my army to retrain. This being permanent would make me play much more than I do at the moment, for certain. Plus the playerbase would truly not have anything to complain when they can build their armies again so quickly.

It doesn't specially say it but the discount also applies to coalition upgrades as well. When it doesn't cost me 8 million to upgrade my aztec coalitions to lvl 7, I tend to notice.

I have to make a complaint about this event. It's incongruous with a war game.
Carnaval is about peace and love and whistles and skimpy clothing, nothing related to Dominations. Please remove this event immediately!

And the planes, an hour to retrain instead of two would line up much closer with my normal army full rebuild.

I am surprised that the whiners have not posted a single negative comment against this event yet!

But this is the greatest event I have seen so far. Finally we have a massive reduction of time (if you ignore the instant Town Center upgrades during Summer & Winter Rushes). It’s awesome for active players who can make one attack every 30 minutes!
