Defense is overpowered = game not fun anymore?

I’ve been a daily player for 2 years and have maxed AA army, have been at 3000-3200 medals for some time. But with all the numerous defense buffs over past several months, especially the missile silo, defense is now overpowered in my opinion.

Only 1 person has 5 starred my base in over a month. And I have about the same record on MP offense now. I can barely squeak out a couple stars against a well defended silo with forbidden city surrounded by AA walls, which is pretty much all the bases up here. I shouldn’t have to use up all my tactics, several card armies, and lots of crowns to retrain my entire air force after every single MP battle.

It makes the game not fun, hard to progress, and I’ve been playing less and less. Now I just log on a couple times a day to collect oil gold food daily league, reset my blessings, and make sure my citizens are busy. Essentially I’ve just become a turtle waiting for next age to come. I am hoping they introduce better offense possibilities. A way for us to build spy to disarm taps would be top of my list.

It's overpowered in multiplayer, for sure, but it's fine in wars. I too have never had my base 5-stared in multiplayer since the silo came out. The really need different behaviors of the silo in multiplayer and war.

Its not fine in war. Defense is still too strong. They made it this way on purpose. They want to sell more troop cards and if the only way you can win a war is with troop cards, the defense will continue to be too strong.

I think having a rearm cost for silo could help. maybe if the silo shoots more than 2 missiles then it needs to be rearmed. 1000 oil for level 1 silo and that cost would go up for each upgrade.. Still think there need to be something to combat it other then using troop cards. maybe an EMP tactic that would suppress any building that fires by a certain percent.. or a stealth tactic that would make your troops invisible to defense for a length of time. We haven't seen any new tactics since industrial and we are due for something new in that area.

Sorry guys, don‘t agree. Game balance is quite good right now. I am also playing this game for over two years now, my base is AA at level 223 and my army is almost maxed out. Actually I‘ve got roundabout 3.300 medals.

I still can find easy bases even with a missile silo for getting 5-star-victories to claim one victory chest every day.
I was also able to raid enough oil to max out my missile silo to level 3 within one week. Just shortened the build time with crowns.
When going for medals I need to search a little bit longer indeed, but I think DL III for a player at my level is realistic, so I don‘t mind, if I can‘t find an oppnent to win 20+ medals...

BUT since missile silo my base has been attacked quite less and that‘s good e.g. for protecting my medals.
My base still can be 5 starred even with an optimal placed silo. But you need to drop your whole army, need to use all of your tactics and of course you must know how to use them ;-) I think that‘s quite fair for raiding my oil and getting 20+ medals from me ;-)

And btw: I don‘t think the missile silo is the biggest problem in multiplayer but maxed out walls! I just left too many medals at low level bases with maxed out walls, so I don‘t attack any base with maxed out walls anymore...

An EMP tactic would be a great addition, along the lines of the Barrage, maybe even the evolution of the barrage.
In Global or AA, if the technology exists for a defending missile, surely the technology exists for an attacking variant, and the EMP is the perfect counter.

You have to understand, not everyone is game is as developed as you are. You are currently at a stage where even with minimal or no loot at all for couple of days you are fine and I am guessing by this time you would have completed emilia, hence you will not be needing that much oil as well.

Same is not the case with early and mid global age bases, heck even with many developed atomic age bases. Imagine a scenario when you have just reached global age and all the juicy oil targets have missile silo and there is no way you can raid anything out of them. Not many people will like to grind 5-6 hours on inactive bases a day(even then it won't be possible in higher leagues) just to collect oil for one Emilia research.

And yes I agree with you, with respect to war, game balance is pretty good(the only exception being mid+ global level, where you have to 5* late global/early atomic age base with silo and having no particular tools - tank destroyer - to deal with it, still manageable but much more difficult). I just wish they could reduce the amount of cards people can get from Marco Polo, so that not every war is stuffed with them.

the game is awesome as it is, lots of players complained it was to easy to 5 star and Nexon listened to all of the moaners and done something about it, so now they are moaning defence is to strong duh, get a grip people you cant have it both ways can you, it is the same game for all of us do yer best and look at your own game to see the flaws you have and fix them, Nexon cant help you with that

If the game is perfect with the silo, then try this out.
Go to high medals, high enough so you only meet silo bases almost exclusively.
Get enough NTGs and diamonds for every war.
Can you do it?

People advocating silo never throw a valid argument into the dabate. My guess is, they just wanna look tough. Matematically, it's impossible to collect 54 NTGs by attacking only bases with silo due to the time required to retrain tactics, mercs and generals! Unless you're richer than Onassis and you can afford to crown everything after each attack. Or you are cheating!
