Hello Leaders!
We’re busy at work finishing the next update, and wanted to preview a few of the upcoming balance changes.
We took your feedback on the Animal Blessing and are re-balancing. The base duration of the Animal Blessing will return to 10 minutes (15 minutes with Zeal chapter 2 from the library), but the blessing it will be slightly more expensive as a result. Animals will continue to spawn every 30 seconds while the blessing is active.
The Training Blessing is also receiving some balance tweaks. The cost will go up slightly, the bonus will go down slightly, and the duration will double. The biggest impact will be for those who are playing as the French; this combo was so powerful as to be considered an unintended exploit. The Training Blessing combined with the French nation power made troop training speeds too fast compared with to other nations. On the plus side, the Training Blessing will now apply to Factory troops, so speed up those Heavy Tanks and get them to the front line!
The Gathering Blessing is getting a slight cost increase. This was necessary because the benefit of the blessing in later ages scaled too high relative to the cost.
On the raiding front we are increasing the train time on raiders. This will not be the final change to raiding, but will probably have the biggest impact.
We also took your feedback for timed goals, which will now be much easier to accomplish. There are now age-specific goals, and we’ve doubled the time on all of them. Players can now complete the timed goals without committing a huge chunk of their day to hunting bunnies. In a future update we’ll look into making further improvements with timed goals, along with other goal-driven content that will give players bigger and more varied rewards.
We know a lot of people are excited about the new Korean nation and what that means for the balance of other Nations and maintaining a high level of competitive play in DomiNations. We will be keeping an eye on Nation statistics and the global leaderboards and address any balance changes in a future update.
We hear your feedback about adding more Blessings! The design thinking around new blessings is underway, as well as possible systemic changes to how the Temple works so that we can keep blessings as useful and powerful as they are now as we add to them . Many of the ideas for new blessings mentioned by the community are favorites around the office.
We hope these balance updates help to give insight on the coming changes and provide some time to prepare. We’re enjoying the back-and-forth communication we get with the DomiNations community so please continue to let us know your thoughts and ideas, thanks!
