I started playing Dominations after looking in the app store for Rise of Nations, the PC game by Big Huge Games. The game is largely based on RoN. Lots of features have been ported across, ages, wonders etc and I enjoy the game a lot but some great elements from RoN have not been ported and I think Dominations could implement them.

Trading.
Number one is trading at the market. In RoN you could buy or sell resources. Not trade with allies or other players, just enter your market and buy or sell whatever you needed to. Buying a resource made the price go up, selling it made the price go down, so you couldn't just keep buying oil in massive quantities as the price would skyrocket out of control. However, if you just needed a little boost you could buy a small amount and go on your way. Also if you needed metal or timber (lets say cider, fur etc) you could also buy and sell these resources. It added an element of managing your economy and also meant you could get small amounts of what you needed when you wanted and if you bought out the market prices would lock you out for a while until the prices stabilized. It added an element to the game.

Generals
In Dominations all generals are are heavy troops with high hit points. They do not actually lead the troops in battle. In RoN these generals didn't attack themselves, but they gave greater control over the troops they were leading. They would increase hit points to all nearby troops and gave you the option of "force marching" the troops, by increasing the speed of all troop for a short period of time. Again, choosing when to use generals and how gave more dynamic gameplay. At the moment all generals are useful for is war. Can we not have the generals affect troops in combat as well as attack themselves so they become more tempting to use in pvp?

Battle control
Dominations is fun, don't get me wrong, but the battle controls are almost non existent. Yes I can choose where to deploy troops and rally them occasionally, and I get the different strategies to do with rallying, but in RoN you could select certain troops and direct them at certain targets, kinda like you do now but only with planes. Right now cavalry will go the closest defensive building. Why not let us rally only cavalry to where we want them to go, not all troops at once. You could manipulate different types of troops for finer control. You could also form them into formations depending on your strategy.

Government
You'd be able to build a senate and select the type of government you wanted to run... either totalitarian or consensus. Totalitarian government gave you advantages in war and consensus advantages in economy and scientific development. In added a strategic element.

These controls made for an overall better experience. I get that the platforms were different. That RoN covered about 8 hours or so and this game you play forever. But I still think these elements could be incorporated and the game would be better as a result.

I hear you, and I agree with all the points you've stated above. Truthfully I'm more concerned about Cheaters, World War matchmaking and better World War loot.
