Game doesn't look right on iPhone XR

Hello, and excuse me if this has been mentioned elsewhere on here... I used to play Dominations on my iPhone 7, and recently upgraded to an iPhone XR. The game used to look right on the iPhone 7, but it does not look right when I play it on the new iPhone XR. The onscreen buttons/controls on the display on the main town screen on the left and right do not go all the way to the left and right edges of the screen. The buttons/controls are about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch from the left and right sides. Does anyone know if this is something that can be fixed, or is that just the way it has to be because of the notch on the left side of the screen when holding the phone horizontal?
