So, halfway to buying my first major global oil upgrade. What do you all think should be first in line? Airstrip, factory, castle? Does the castle ug give u a third general slot?

I personally have the level 4 factory and bazookas. I will say that they are lackluster. I think, based on a bug post I read, that a third general comes out of a lv 5 fort, but unless your generals are high level that doesn't seem worth it. I'd lean towards the airstrip. Even if paratroopers suck then you still have 4 plane capacity.

You don't like Bazookas? Can you elaborate, because right now most people seem to think that they look super strong.

They are super strong. The same way that machine guns look great on paper until you deploy them and their AI tells them to shoot unnecessary walls? That is what bazookas do.

When I unlocked them I was excited, so much so that I figured that combined with my Brandenburg gate, maybe, JUST maybe factory troops were going to be big in Global Age. I spent about 7000 oil and trained 26 of them, 5 machine gunners, and a few supply trucks to keep them healthy. Then I sent them into a base and let them go. They started off wrecking the place, then I made my way into a few walls and rallyed them on the town center. Mind you, they were standing mere inches from it to begin with. They decided that destroying the town center I rallyed wasn't important. Instead, they walked back out of the walls they had blown their way through, past a few lv 9 towers and a mortar, and got themselves all killed. I'm guessing their tank detection range is huge and they work like archers in that they actively seek out enemy defenders. But to come off a rally to find a tank across the map? That's a problem. So yeah, my run with them was less than satisfying.

If their AI was improved, they could easily be among the strongest unit right now. Their DPS is really high for 4 troop space and they have enough health to survive a few hits. But you have to babysit them. And a rally every 30 seconds isn't enough babysitting.

Hmmm, interesting. As seemingly the only general left using shock/assault infantry, I can't say I'm disappointed as I feared bazookas would be the final nail in their coffin, but that is still disappointing to hear. The factor unit AI is just god awful...its strange.

Super useful to know, sounds like another unit too stupid to use without German rally, think I'll go for airstrip first but look forward to trying a few bazookas with a hvy tank + German Brain enhancement, hmm, this is starting to sound like a supervillians plan for world domination , myuh ha ha ha ha!

Then you have a germans so with the better rally option ;)...

Maybe you should use a few interspersed with the rest of your army to ptotect against tanks - rather than using them as your battering ram. Try it a few more times to get a better idea. One experiment doesnt seem enough to make a final decision.

Small-speck? SMALL SPECK??? For a single cell, I am enormous! Indeed, I can even be seen without a microscope!

Thanks for the info! I have seen a video that shows them doing serious damage, but the drop everything and go after tank thing sounds bad. I think I will still go factory first, so I can try out the MK3 heavy tank, but I hope they update the AI before I get them.

Ravenlord, I have been doing that, just peppering them into my regular army. They just seem to suffer from the same issue that gats do in that their AI puts them in harm's way too often and they get killed. Then when I really need them (ie I've used my betrayal tactics and there are more HTs blowing a hole in me) they are all dead. I still stick by my original thought that like most factory troops, they have a ton of potential but they need an AI babysitter.

Sharing is caring - in fact, if I look closely, coupled with those pesky varicose veins, ..... it looks like you!!

Figures, you've been a pain in the .... no, that would be too mean. Lets say you're annoyingly adorable. Or adorably annoying. Either way works.

umm, this was my very thoughtful tactical post so it was Mr Varicose Veins that brought his amoeba crush into this thread...
