Greetings Leaders,
Unfortunately, due to Google Play's requirements, we needed to remove the "Account connect/disconnect" button from the game due to privacy concerns. This also alleviated some Google Play-related crash issues. We understand that this made it easier for players to change their accounts within the game, and we are working on a new login process for a future update.
In the meantime, we wanted to share a workaround for our AOS users that would allow you to switch accounts! Our iOS users may find some familiarity here.
Instructions
1) Go to Settings
On your Android device, go to settings and then scroll down to Google Services and preferences.
From here swipe to the ‘All Services’ tab find the ‘Settings for Google apps’ option and select it.
Choose Play Games!
2) Sign in Management Screen
Where your Google Play email is located, you can choose the drop-down arrow, which will reveal your other Google account options.
If you haven’t added another account yet this is where you would do so, and log into your additional Google Play account.
Where it says ‘sign in account’, you can tap it and be taken to a Sign in Management screen.
From here you’ll have a few options to change accounts.
3a) Change Account by Game
First, you can change the account by game, tap the change button by the specified game (DomiNations in this case).
This will pull up a menu with all your current Google Accounts. Choose the one you wish to use when logging into the game.
Be sure to hit the save button!
The next time you log into DomiNations, if the account you chose is different from the one you previously used, you will be asked if you’d like to load the game for the newly signed-in account.
3b) Ask Login Each Time you play
A second way to do this is to scroll to the bottom of the ‘change the account by game’ menu, where you’ll find an ‘Ask each time’ option.
After saving this option, you will need to choose the Google Play account you want to sign in with each time you activate the game!
3c) Sign Out
The ‘sign out’ option will log you out of your currently active account. The next time you log into the game, it will still load the one that was previously logged-in.
Like in the previous Log-in option, you will see a Google Play account login window pop up before entering the game.
However, you will still need to tap the settings button in DomiNations, you’ll notice that the Google Play ‘Connect’ button will appear.
You will still need to tap this button, another Google Play Log-in window will open, and you can choose the account you wish to load.
Once selected, DomiNations will ask if you want to load that account’s game and restart if you say ‘yes’.
3d) Search for 'Play Games'
In your AOS device settings, you can always search for ‘Play Games’.
This will take you to your Google Play profile page where you can access the options above.
But you can also tap Change underneath the ‘Change the default account for games’.
From this window, you can change the default for only new games, the default account for all games, and even sign out of all games.
DomiNations World Account Switching
Linking your account(s) to DomiNations World will also allow you to change your account when playing DomiNations on PC! This won't offer changes on the mobile version of the game but is an alternative for those that are able to play this way.
