I am a big fan of Rise of Nations and from time to time, once in a year maybe I run a quick search for any news about a sequel, sadly so far nothing. Has BGH expressed any interest in development of RoN? I have no idea who owns the rights to it, but it is either BHG or Microsoft. Microsoft are working actively on strategy games currently and BHG has saw some good returns I believe from Dominations so they have the resources now to make a sequel to RoN, maybe in colaboration with MS? Age of empires 4 is comming out in 1 or 2 years, it will attract interest in this gener, plus it has been so many years, many things can be improved in a possible Rise of Nations 2.
From what I remember AOE 4 was started by a single question from a Reddit user to Bill Gates in a AMA thread with a topic completely inrelated to games. So sometimes all it takes to start something big is a simple question to the correct person.
