I don't know, if you can max your offense and defense more quickly then maybe oil grinding wouldn't be the tedious chore it is in enlightenment and industrial age. Getting oil is much easier in global (holding on to it is another story) and easier still in atomic. At least that's how it was for me.

1) who would want the upgrade times to be longer? haha
2) nexxon needs to know that this is one game among many. this game is in competition with many similar games (CoC being one of them). you NEED to make the game more user friendly if it is to compete and having very long upgrade times will just make people quit.

I completely agree that upgrade times need to be halved or even further reduced. Even at the gunpowder age they are beginning to wear me down.

I am on the fence regarding university times. On my Global account all but 4 workers are on study leave and I must tell you if not for wars I would only be checking on the progress every 2 or 3 days. I cannot imagine that this is what developers intended.

Perhaps another campaign is in order?

i played for 11 days without tactics cuz of academy upgrades, u can imagine 11 days no tactics vs silos and generals in MP

it's also completely incapacitating to play without airstrip fof 14 days, simply no fighters beyond GA = no gameplay

it comes to maximal annoyance when it strikes u into one of the most critical buildings like embassy fort airstrip academy merc camp when u have to stop playing wars for 2 weeks for each of those forcing u to do some of them simultaneously killing ur MP gameplay to stay out of war as little as possible

You can still use embassy while it upgrades. Though I agree with the rest. Just coughed up 1700 crowns for my atomic airstrip upgrade as a 13 day wait was not going to work for me. Which is all part of the business model just like the excessive retrain times for individual plwnes.

In my opinion these time reductions shouldn't be implemented as afterthoughts via university researches, or as sudden game changes that cause players who "suffered through original prices" to complain on the forums about how butt-hurt they are. They should be more gradual. Here is what I would have done as a game maker:

Every time a new age gets added, all research times for previous ages get halved.

That's it. Simple system, keeps it challenging for those at the top while giving an opportunity to those who started a year or 2 later to catch up. No need to cut resource costs, just research times. Otherwise, I can guarantee you that anyone starting the game today will give up long before they reach Atomic.

I like this idea.
Player need to be able to reach third last age in 3 month, second last in 6month and latest one in 1 year.
And also, max third last age in 6 month, second last in 12month and max all in 2 years

when i first played this game as a 'civ-like' i did not understand the role of time in this class of games... never played it's predecessors or competitors.
it's part of the design; no way around it. i don't like it; i think it could be a better game around a different principle.
that's what it is. income around the game design is based on time ..
it's not hard to have fun "around" this though, just be detached to your own "progress" and have fun where you are ....

I like the idea of having reduced times on everything, but, even its something not in the topic, what about walls? I think its so frustrating and insane to pay 900k-millions and millions resources for a single wall or foor... Id like to complain about both thibgs, times and walls. Am I the only one?

The wall prices I can live with. The fact that a relatively cheap in comparison wall miner can blow a gaping hole through several of them is insane. One wall miner, taking up less than 3% of one's total troop space, can blow a hole through 22,000,000 worth of walls in one hit. 22,000,000 is as much as it costs to upgrade wall miners from gunpowder to global. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Wall miners should take double the troop spaces but then have the ability to also disable traps, like real combat engineers. But that's another idea for another thread.

I am fine with wall's cost, Or I think it is a bit low

some items are designed to be completed by no-life players only, Wall is definitely one in the list.
