How much time is needed to complete a Great Leader?

I think some of the not so Great Leaders with shorter work times could be done in some 100 days (aka Montezuma, IIRC). But yeah finishing of Leonardo or Saladin takes roughly 2 years...

Mansa and Hiawatha are under a month each straight through (23 days or less, depending on the order you do them in). Moctezuma is well under two months, Amelia and Haile similar but a bit longer. Those three tend to be resource constrained vs time constrained, particularly haile and amelia.

Leo is 734 days before discounts. 570 with mansa and hiawatha done. And gets down to 497 with atomium. Since you won't wait until atomium and atomic age to start it, but you might as well finish mansa and hiawatha first (fewer people as well as less time), 18 months is a fair best case estimate. And that is a lot of people. Leo is a worst case, since the last layer is oil, and takes 7 people for each stage, starting at 5 days and creeping up from there. Those layers don't get a 30% time discount.

Saladin starts even higher at 794, but drops further with no oil levels.555 or 476 with atomium.

You can lower the time by finishing leo, or the worker count by finishing sejong, but they are so long already that you don't want to wait for the offensive boosts. Well over half of the total times is either top levels that aren't that useful, or the final few stages of low value areas. The first 5 levels take less than 1/3 of the total time for any of the lower steps.

The only original leader I've finished is Leo, and I've been playing for 2.5 years. Expect 1.5 to 2 years with all the current time reductions.

Yep. Without crowns just the heavy tanks chapters of Leo, 20% of the total chapters, will take over six months alone. Honestly though Leo and Saladin are the only ones of the original five worth finishing anyway. Sejong sounds nice in theory but unless you laser focus on it you should have already gotten better capstones by the time you finish him. Catherine? How many revolutions are you going to want to do by the time you could even finish her? Suleiman? How often do you use wonder powers outside of war? Pffft.

I'd even say Leo isn't worth finishing unless you're the type who saves or purchases lots of crowns. Then the savings for just crowning certain other chapters in uni are somewhat significant. The actual time saved though depends on how much of your workforce you're dedicating exclusively to uni chapters.

I did Leo because most of the time commitment is in the HT researches, so completing everything isn't that much more, and helps with Saladin.

Same here basically. Had pretty much been grinding it from the jump anyway. I also have atomium. But if one isn't maxing their heavy tanks the worker hours used aren't really worth the time saved by getting the capstone. Neither is the atomium really. I don't think we'll see 100 level leaders ever again. Overall though 70% is actual useful, depending on one's playstyle, and since you have to grind half the worthless chapters anyway to get to the good stuff.......

This is what I don’t get. I had a thread on here a while back saying it was time to reduce the old uni Leader times. We’re talking literal years to reach HT & HC boosts.
Now along comes the museum, so now through shear luck a random player can score an artifact that can offer ridiculous boosts making spending years doing uni research look like a complete farce.
Why should I slave away at the uni when another player can score a lucky artifact? Isn’t that insanely random and unfair??

everything in this game is long-term stuff. the buildings, the university, now the museum.

a lucky person with an awesome artifact has a head start for sure, but after one year of crafting, his artifact wont be so awesome compared to yours.

pckrn lol what? I’m pretty sure that someone who scores an artifact early on will still be way ahead in a years’ time and that I won’t somehow magically reverse the situation.

No he won't. And having university bonus + a museum bonus will always be better then someone only having a museum bonus.
Stop complaining, everyone has the same chances to craft some good stuff.

Are you mad at ppl winning the lotery as well?

he cant be way ahead because there exists a maximum to how far an artifact can take you.

also, there is more than just 1 artifact display slot so it is very unlikely someone will have better artifacts than you in every one of the display slots

its not magic its just mathematics

Ok I’ll try again in simpler terms for you guysusing this example...
Please let me know which of the following you don’t understand.
1 - the only real value of the jewellery artefacts are the oil bonuses.
2 - most players should be able to get to ~60% extra oil
3 - A small number of players are lucky enough to craft 2 excellent oil bonus artefacts giving them ~120% extra oil
4 - so a small number of players get a huge advantage through pure luck and nothing else.

Please don’t respond that eventually everyone gets lucky with 2 excellent oil artefacts so the only advantage is in how quickly you score them IE how hard you work at crafting. If this is your position then please go ahead and post a screen cap of hard-earned oil bonus at 120% I’ll wait.
