Is anyone still using factory troops?

I've noticed the factory has become a nice decorative building for most bases at this point. I'd say almost my entire alliance has quit using them. And the majority of attacks on my base no longer include factory troops. Does anyone else also this training time nerf to factory troops was unnecessary?

I no longer use factory troops. It's a shame because they are great troops. When I use my training blessing it makes more sense to use non-factory troops that can be trained quickly. Also I hardly ever use the double general due to the cost in oil and tactics take forever to make, so I hardly use them either. Essentially the game is set up that if you want to use that gear for attacks, you need to do it with crowns....either bought or hacked crowns.

Since they can be built In parallel to barracks troops than why not just throw in some Gatling gunners? Those guys seem so good to me

Gattling guns are fine, but the one I like the most is the saboteur....and that troop just takes too long to make when you are on a training blessing. Removing the training blessing effect from the factory was a silly decision by the developers.

Nope. I dismissed guerillas first and then even gattlings. They should allow 2-4 gattlings and 2 guerillas to be built for 8-10 mins.

I'm using the Saboteur. I bring 1 every time in my raids.

It takes me about 5 minutes to retrain a whole army if none of them return (which is most of the time) during a training blessing. That's enough for no more than two gattling guns to train parallel with barracks troops. If I waited 10 minutes to retrain a saboteur, I miss out on raiding time and lose 15 troop spaces. Its not worth it for my approach which is resource focused rather than medal focused at the moment. I have access to tanks which are great for taking the TC, but my basic foot troops seem to get most of the resources I need.

That is completely right. Training blessing is a game changer and you should optimize all your strategies around it. I am afraid that all those plains, guerrillas etc may be done for casual players with current balance. Hardcore players are forced to use the fastest regular units mix or raiders.

Whats a "factory" trooper? You mean non upgraded troops?

factory as in gattling gunners, saboteurs, heavy tank units.
