Had a quick look at Acropolis - Maybe in the screen shot you can click on it and show the radius? Be good to see what range it has so can see how to maximise garrisons and stables in that range.

How do you like the Acropolis? I can't decide between the Acropolis and the Hanging Gardens...

Wow - that's an awesome layout - Do you have both of the Library upgrades for walls? That's a good way of using multiple areas. One thing I'd do thou is split up the farms, I've got 3 sets of 2, but even that could be more separated with buildings in-between. Means getting all of them if you take a break for a day or so is much harder for a raider.
Edit: Also looking at the town centre - the roads only need to be connected to it. So you can cut out the road in front of it (and add it to the ends of the road runs) and move it forward one square so it connects to the two road ends.

It's a good Clasical layout to protect your resources. Things I'd change - move the Cat into the middle row, then a gold out to the edge - that way resources are spread across 3. Spread the farms around the base. What are the single turns in the roads? Just make them straight and put more stuff up against them.
If you want to focus on defense - Cats, Ballistas, and Walls. So check the library and make a plan to get more of them!

Move the other barracks outside the walls closer to the Acropolis - or at least make sure it's in range for the bonus. Not sure about the other wonder, but check what it does and make sure you're doing it!

The acropolis doesn't give any bonuses to barracks, only to stable and garrisons. My other wonder, notre dame, only give an economical bonuse (-10% of the cost of the blacksmith/library upgrade). Also thanks for the ideas!

ahh - sorry - I meant make sure the Garrison was in range - just a typo. 10% discount on Library sounds good, I could do with that!

Notre dame also give some gold bonuses, for me (classial age) it is 5k every day. And yes, all my garrisons are in range. The only problem I have is a full bowmen attack, especially british's longbowmen. Since my defence is much more focused on garrisons and stable (because of the Acropolis) archers can easily defeat me if they destroy my catapult early. Any suggestions?

I think you're doing as good as you can with the one Cat. I'd suggest quick as you can move to the Medievial age. There you're getting the Library, and you can do research to get extra Catapults (2 extra) - this is the primary library research to aim for when you get there (imho). That way you can spread them across the sections and you're immediately more effective.

Hey gang - I've used blackbrians base for classical Roman age with Acropolis. I'm dying to get a medieval version. Great bases on here - just nothing medieval with the bonus of Acropolis and having to keep garrisons and stables in range. Any help would be appreciated!

I'm also new to DomiNations, but here's an Iron Age farming base I just designed and it seems pretty decent for just getting started. I've been playing games like this for quite a while now and put some of the things I know from them into this design. I also used some of the suggestions mentioned earlier in this thread. Thanks Guys!

Some of the features:

1. Uses the Acropolis, which reaches both Garrisons.
2. Centralized Catapult, inside it's own compartment, with a range beyond both markets and both mills.
3. The Garrisons are also centralized, covering pretty much the entire base. The gate locations also give them easy access to all sides of the walled-in area.
4. All but 4 buildings are in contact with roads. You can make it all but 3 if you move the mercenary camp next to the temple. I may actually do this myself.

What do you guys think? See anything you would move around? I look forward to hearing any ideas or suggestions that might improve the layout. Thanks!

UPDATE:

Decided to leave the mercenary camp where it is for extra protection on the top side, and put traps near the bottom towers instead. I think that should be a fairly even tradeoff.
