Let's talk about tactics...before and after the rebalance

I just wanted to share a few thoughts about tactics usage before and after the rebalance. I could also use some help from you guys understand what tactics work better now.

PRE REBALANCE

Barrage

Purely offensive. You could take 6 of them and use 3 on an area with many defensive buildings and take them out. Another 3 on another difficult area and the defence was crippled.
A favorite of mine pre industrial age but I was using it even in global in certain cases.

First Aid
Never used it unless I was playing with Heavy tanks only

Sabotage
With the silo arrival, it became a bit more useful but after the nerf of requiring 2 tactic slots, I stopped using it.

Protect
The most useful tactic up to industrial and before the arrival of silo. After the silo, I transitioned to decoy.

Demolition
Very useful as I could use 1 demolition and take out certain key buildings like antitank guns. Or use 3-4 and kill a level 1-2 silo.

Betrayal
I only used it up to industrial age for heavy tanks as later on decoy was much better. Basically none uses it.

Decoys
The most useful tactic as we all know. Not much to say here. It enabled a player to aim high and actually test his strength against harder opponents.


POST REBALANCE

Barrage

Unchanged stats. Damage is completely useless. You need a lot more to take out a cluster of defensive buildings. You raised the HP by 250-300% but the bararge damage remained the same? seriously?

First Aid
Now that many players switch to HT builds, Aid will become more a standard in our line up.

Sabotage
Again we switch to using sabotage more often but the 2 slots are still a problem.

Protect
Haven't seen it being used by others. I don't use it either.

Demolition
You raised the damage but still you need at least 2 to take out a building so it is not cost effective. Most people use 3-4 to take out certain defences but it is not the best choice imho.

Betrayal
None is using it still.

Decoys
The biggest nerf in the history of dominations. Completely ruined a tactic. Even the decoy traps are better now. Very few are still using them now. They last no more than 2-3 secs even with the uni research done. Needs more HP. The duration could remain as it is now.


So that leaves us with what?? Have HT armies and First Aid to be cost effective? Because with a normal army consisting of a few tanks, artillery, foot troops and engineers, nothing seems to really work adequately. It takes so much time to kill the buldings now that foot troops don't last through the whole battle anymore.

Fellow dominators please share your thoughts and do tell what tactics you currently use with what troop combo...

The next rebalance just announced that barrage will be boosted (probably not enough) and heavy tanks will be cheaper. So maybe we will start carrying heals, barrage, and heavy tanks.

I'm using betrayal, but just to get to that stupid old man goal. They aren't great in general still.

I always noticed good HT attackers using them. Now and also before the rebalance.

Sabotage
I use 2 of them, I have always thought of them being usefull, ever after nerfing. sabo on a mortar and 1 or 2 spawning buildings is so much better then using a decoy.
The decoy will trigger ever more spawning buildings and especially against htg bases it makes things worse.
I still use decoy for the SH and TC troops and for high level generals.

Protect
I don't use it anymore,

Demolition
Never used it

Betrayal
Can be awesome against p2w alliances that fill every SH with EA. 2 of those with a well timed decoy and sog on the 6 stolen EA and you clear the base with ease.
It is however very hard to be successfull, but if it works, it is OP.

Decoys
Let's be honest, decoys were way overpowered before rebalance. I think they probably have hit the nerf button too hard, but I like the idea of having to time a decoy well and place it properly.

looked through my defense log. dynasty2. the oldest one in the log was 8 days and some hours ago so i think theyre all attacks made after rebalance2?

there were about 40 decoys, 15 sabotages, 5 each of first aid, demolition, and protect. 0 barrage, 0 betrayal.

Takes a long time to research new tactics. Everything but my decoys was far from maxed, so I'm working on getting some other things upgraded. Decoys are still right there, maxed out, one space, and I know how to use them already. I wouldn't expect a new balance to settle out for some months.

that is a good point, but i assume these dynasty people to have all the tactics upgraded even if they dont use it. i myself have upgraded all but the last level of protect and my level is quite low compared to these guys. but then, using what people are used to is also an important factor i can see

yes mate I have forgotten that betrayal can be used on EAs. thx for reminding me this. But decoy was smashed to pieces. It is not the duration but the HP that should have been higher.

surprisingly too many decoys!! Were these attacks 4-5 star? or just 2-3?

I believe that the majority of players is still experimenting with tactics because I see many strange combinations

Before the rebalance, in WWs I was using 2 Sabotage and 3 Decoys.
After the rebalance I switched to 1 Sabotage, 2 Betrayal and 1 Decoy.

Never been a fan of Dynamite or Protect.

I have used all Heavy Tank army without any tactics before the rebalance, now I might have to bring 1 or 2 Healing or whatever it's called.

Haven't used Heavy Tanks in a couple of weeks but I will give it a go this weekend after Stage 3.

The decoy change is the one thing l like about the ''rebalance''. (I'll continue to put quotation marks around that word because Nexon is fooling no-one) :D
It was too easy to use and required no skill. People would waste 5-7 on my base just to get my oil.

I guess we need to wait till all stages are implemented, since every stage now is changing so much. For example, maybe after the stage 3 the best combo would be a bunch of bazookas under the shield...

that is so true. I was experimenting with foot troops in large numbers and howies but that combo doesn't work that well anymore. So, we need foor troops that are harder to kill like machine guns and bazookas. With the reduction in oil cost, they seem to be the norm in the future.

For raids I just use 6 uni-maxed mk. 7 heavy tanks, 5 supersonic fighters, 7 footies, 1 maxed bazooka along with 7 first aid. Lately I just do 5-5 star raids between 1500-1900 medals to get my 2 chests, watch my ads and call it a day. Otherwise I'd raid until I burned through my first aids or lost 2 or more fighters, that really hasn't changed.

The few wars I've participated in since the rebalances haven't changed my tactics load out much either. 3 first aid, 4 decoys(that have to be thrown with much more precision and better timing). Unless certain variables such as bazooka towers or our opponents have Cyrillic writing in their names are present. The only thing that has changed is my donation requests have switched from 4 howies, 3 shooters to 1 heavy tank, 3 bazookas, 3 shooters. Since time war stalemates have decreased drastically where I'm at glory-wise taking 3+ minutes to slog through bases with heavy tanks isn't the issue it once was.
