Longer WW Search Times = Less Wars

With the new WW matchmaking in place (or more specifically the glory reset) we are warring full time now. Unfortunately the longer search times mean that wars begin later and later in the day since the war clock starts when the match is finally made. This means that we are regularly skipping a day for searching/warring in order to reset the clock to a time that works for our players.

What are your ideas?

Some of mine are:

- Shorten prep day to accommodate longer search times. Say by half of the longer sides’ search time.
- Allow a new search for next war to overlap war day.
- Let both sides’ leaders hit a Ready button to start the war early. Ready is automatic after Prep day ends.
- Get rid of Prep day - instead give each player a Ready button, and battles can begin between any two Ready players any time. Ready is automatic after 24 hours. Wars last 36 hours.
- Allow two wars simultaneously.

There's only one problem for clumsy folks like me : I might click the Ready button, accidentally! 😆

One and only solution. I'll say this one more time: Matchmaking by glory and glory alone. It's much more easier to find an alliance close to your glory, than one with similar strength factors. Glory needs fixing so as to function the exact same way medals do for multiplayer battles.

You win, you go up, you encounter stronger alliances
You lose, you go down, you encounter weaker alliances

An alliance full of Space Age combatants who use crap strategies and lose, should go down and encounter an easier one next time.
An alliance full of Medieval Age combatants who use genius strategies and win, should go up and encounter an even stronger one next time.

Within 1-2 weeks the matchmaking would be the most fair for everyone.

As for search times?

I will answer it again, it's a lot more easy to find an alliance close to your glory, than an alliance with similar XPS, medals, strengths, Ages and everything else that matchmaking is currently based on at present

Glory and all the other factors (offensive/defensive power) both have to be counted for. Your argument for counting Medieval players who use genius strategies and win wouldn't necessarily work well...
Say they get decent high in glory doing that. What if then there are bunch of alliances with the same glory, full of CWA/Space Age players? Obviously that's a match up with no chance.

Glory alone cannot work, just like medals don't (that's why there is the -1/+1 age limit in MP. Think of Loonies on the leaderboard, he wouldn't have any chance of winning as Enlightenment Age against all the CWA/SA if it was pure medal matchmaking. But age limit wouldn't work in War)

I think the devs said glory will be counted in matchmaking, on top of all the other offensive/defensive scores, after the first couple of matches from the matchmaking overhaul. Not sure exactly when though.

{[Fresh]}Kratos the examples I gave are just theory and can never happen. I just gave them to state the importance of Glory. If an alliance is placed among Space Age alliances, then it deserves to be there, having somehow already beaten some of them. If it's unfair for them, perhaps the "Medieval" alliance wouldn't had reached that high Glory in the first place anyway
