How does matchmaking works? is it based on baselevel, experience, medalcount or age you are in?

now i am in experience level 9, 509 medals and iron age
All bases i can find are level 2x/3x so it is impossible to win...

regards

Medal count. Just drop your medals until you start to find more desirable bases.

Many other players have reduced their medals to find easier prey. I bounce from 300-600 to find bases I want.

The problem is ... no one wants to win on leagues so everyone's trying to drop medals to find nice farming lands. Droping medals just costs you one unit. Unless they improve league rewards it's better to keep farming ...

this discourages new players as they are constantly farmed, which reduces the player base, which kills the game.

exactly dbuk, anything before classical age will see minimal losses. You simply dont have a big enough resource pool along with the short upgrade times. Classical age is where we start to see much larger costing and lengthier upgrades.

I tend to agree with the threads general opinion: I see no value to medal hunting at this point, I will stay in the 400-600 range until its not as lucrative anymore. I laugh when alliances are so serious about medal pushing, what good is it besides bragging rights of being in the top 100?

Smaller guys are not farmed so badly, why waste troops on for such a small reward?

The real result of all of this is that the big bases with big resources end up all playing in the same pond as the small ones and the big guys will still end up fighting each other too if they leave their stuff lying around or unprotected.

The only loser is the middle of the road kind of player that can't defend against the big ones, and struggles to save enough for the massive upgrades that would defend their base.

But honestly, if the game was easy it wouldn't be fun.

It is funny how we all 'hunt' in the 400-600 area, big and small. So why does BHG bother with medals at all?

agreed. medals is not worked out properly. It is quite useless unless they give HUGE rewards for being in a league.
I can raid small frys w/o any losses whatsoever, and 20 small frys add up to quite a nice meal. burp!

The factors are current age and medal count.

You can attack and be attacked by people who are at your age, one age below you and one age above you, with a similar number of medals.

For example, a Classical player can attack/be attacked by Iron Agers, Classicals and Medievals with a medal count similar as yours. So you will never be able to trample Bronze Age players with gunpowder cannons, even if you have 100 medals.

And unlike the cry-babys out there says, you can win attacks and defenses against players above your age, it's a matter of managing well your attacks and base layout.

I got attacked by enlightment age many times being in Medieval. So it might be also based on medals. I farm in range 900-1100 to get daily crowns and enough resources too. It's so bad 2nd silver gives as much crowns as 3rd. Unbalanced.

I used to be up at around 800 medals but what is the point really? I can Attack a base in that rank and win but lose way more than I would attacking somebody in the 300-400 medal range. Yeah the big guys tend to have more resources but if the base is good enough you aren't going to get them all. The guys in lower medal ranges sitting here with level 2 walls (or no walls at all) and 50k resources are much better targets.
