Being roman only means that you can have 10% more units. Not a real table-turning threat to good organized defenses, which are more lethal to infantry spams now that the range of everything have been expanded.

I still would prefer greeks and french, as the first have economic bonuses present in all ages, the second can make raiding sessions faster and both their cavalry got a steroids injection after the last update.

Balance is everything in this type of game. However, the issue is there cannot be balance with so many options. For games like this there are three factors: Attacking, Defending and Farming. There should be only three nations (or options) and player should choose which focus they want. An example:

Romans: Additional Offense
Japanese: Additional Defense
British: Additional Farming

This way it's balanced based on how you want to play. Too many options leads to an unbalanced game.

No matter what the do they cannot please everybody because everyone has a different point of view. I carefully selected romans on my base when i started as i read through all the wonders before updating. i dont have a problem with the game play in fairness. It is a fun game. But if you want to moan and quit then id say good riddens.
