Network Issues - No Spinner

Over the past few weeks we've been busy investigating an increase in Network Errors.

If you’ve been following our Facebook or Twitter feeds, you know that in October we had several server hardware failures that increased the amount of Network Errors. But even as we fixed our underlying server hardware issues we were still seeing an increase in reported Network Errors, which lead us redirect our attention to changes in the last update.

If you are using an unreliable internet connection or have dropped your connection to the internet (or if one of our servers fails), you see a yellow spinner while the game tries to get a response from the server before displaying a Network Error popup indicating that you have lost connection and have to reload. In early October, players started reporting an immediate Network Error popup without a yellow spinner. After investigating further (and fixing our hardware issues) we discovered that this new Network Error behavior is the side-effect of a fix made in the 4.7 update that prevented the game crashing during battles. Unfortunately, the crash fix can cause players to hit a Network Error even while on a strong internet connection.

So to correct the issue we are updating the original fix to no longer cause a Network Error when preventing a crash and are putting more preventative guards in place. We’re including these fixes in our next update that we hope to have out as soon as possible.

My last 3 game sessions have all ended abruptly due to this error. Entire army wiped out, resources exposed, completely frustrating. What's incredible is that the company has been investigating this "for weeks". And this thread was started 5 days ago and still we have no remedy. The game is basically unplayable right now. You can't raid to any meaningful resource goals, and war attacks are entirely at risk. Battle crashes have been around forever in this game, and when they try to implement a fix, it makes the problem worse. Are there any competent developers left on the product team?

Nexon, I encourage you to have some tremendous rewards (not 100 crowns) in store for the customers who actually stick around for your supposed fix to this issue, and who continue to commit their time to your poorly managed product.

4th crash within the last 3 days. It's less frequent than last week but it is still enough to make me want to throw my phone at someone's face. I just screenshot every crash and post it to CS.

I get a internet disconnect while collecting gold from my camels. At least I don't lose my army but this is really becoming a problem.

Yes, I feel that 100 crowns to be insulting. Outrageous that they are this reluctant with compensating.
If they want to keep people should improve this.

Nb4powerup. I am a leader of my alliance. People of my alliance ask me when this bug will be resolved, what answer should I give them? I try to keep them in, but its getting too frustrating for them. The only thing that is keeping them with me right now is the good team spirit. Help me.

Update from me : 10th Network error betwenn yesterday and today.This happens 80% of the time when i destroyed défensives buildings.All my troops come back home EXCEPT planes ( why??).
I don't care of loosing gold or food but not petrol.. With these bugs I lost 11k petrol..This is huge to me.. And at least 1h to retrain my planes.. This is intented to help you finding a solution...And potentially to reveal a new bug to you...(with planes not coming back to city even if all défensives buildings have been destroyed)..

Arrrrgh I just lost an entire army AGAIN to this stupid bug!!!!!!


It could be coincidence, but there seems to be a correlation between this "Network Error" (no spinner) bug, that happens randomly mid-battle (and often when the battle is 80%-90% finished), and the in-game video ads. The network error bug started happening around the same time as the in-game video ads appeared, and I have noticed, almost without fail, that when my video ads come off cooldown, or a couple minutes before that, the network error will occur and i will lose my army in a battle.

Please remove the ads and don't add them back in until you have sorted out a) any software problems and/or b) your hardware / server issues. Thank you.

I don't get those ads on my device. But i do get plenty of crashes (no spinner disconnect), sometimes mid battle, sometimes whem collecting farms, about 4-5 times a day.

I really appreciate your addressing the issue. Honesty will go a long why. And yes, you need to bring CS into your communication loop. CS will create tremendous ill will blaming players, especially more experienced players that know better.

Pretty much every other attack I lose my army and loot, getting real close to no point in playing this game anymore.

I echo a lot of the comments from the other players...just waited an hour to rebuild my army after the previous attack, only to get one of these network crashes within the first 20seconds of trying to deploy my army...very frustrating, have ended this session more nervous/upset then when I started, for no fault of my own. Messaged CS also but again I echo the comments on the forum, the loss of the army, blessings, medals are certainly not worth the 100 crowns...

To whom it can help : I found a "workaround", meaning I lost all my troups avery 6th attaqs instead of every 2 : Disable Sound, and sound effects and reboot before every multiplayer Attack ( I know this is boring, but only way I found..) Also it seems that I have more this network errors in mornings ( EU time) than evening times ( maybe because chinese people are at sleep ??) I have no clue at all why this happens.. I am just willing to feddback as much as possible from a player point of view. And to help my fellow friends

do u work for CS? your workarouND is exactly the response I get from CS.

reboot after every multi player attack ... r u kidding.
if I reboot before the system recovers, I get being scouted for 10 minutes before I get back in and someone may have attacked me.

your workaround leads to losing medals and resources after every attack.

fix the crash problem. the game is unplayable.

Hummm,,, I don't even know what CS stands for ??? No I'm just a player. like you are...I also have the same problem being scouted and press the button 50 times...
This "workaround" worked for me ( and when i say work..hum...hummm.). I "just" have a crash every 6 attacks instead of 2....This is just trying to help, if that is not in your interest, don't waste your time answering to me...
And for me losing medals I don' care, I'm just lvl 150, loosing ressources ( food ?) , I don't care, what pissed me off is that i need to re-train my planes and 1k petrol each time ( 1 hour )...I am at 20k petrol lost because of this f*** fucking bug..I would love to have it resolved, but if it was so easy an update would have been released...

Well, 2 min after this mail, I have another crash loosing again all my troops and my 3 planes...Again 1k petrol lost..I am at 21k petrol loss. PLEASE DO SOMETHING !!!!!!! I AM FED UP OF YOUR IT GUYS INCOMPETENCY

It's beyond a joke now guys. Give us an update on progress to fixing this? Anything, because I'm beginning to despair at the thought of making an attack amd with an event like this in play that's not a good place to be.

The system seemed much reliable last night and much of today but in the last 6 hours, I have lost all troops due to this bug four times. I am rebuilding troops for far more of my playing time than I am actually playing, even with a training blessing running. This is not viable. Note: I play on two devices through three networks. Have experienced failures on all of them.

It's happened 3x today. I think, as has been said already, to keep people happy you should #1 fix the problem. #2 compensate us with crowns since a lot of our cash has been burned. Love the game & don't wanna leave a bad review. But, this needs to be remedied soon.

So in a few weeks we'll get an update which might fix these network errors. I wonder how many will still be playing the game then?
