New Blacksmith Event

I'm always grateful to Nexon for coming up with things that are cheaper for a few days - like the latest "Blacksmith upgrade is 50% cheaper and all Barracks troops are 25% cheaper" event. However, this is the first time I'm making a complaint about it.

Nexon, surely you realise there are plenty of players playing this game and not all of them are at the same technological level. What about tweaking these events to accommodate people with, I don't know, ...... all their barracks troops already upgraded??!! Yes I know you're trying to give younger players a chance and level the playing field somewhat but give us an incentive too!! Why can't the Generals or factory/airstrip troops be cheaper as well? Or tactics?? Is it so bad that some people are continually ahead of others?

All I'm saying is: Different strokes for different folks. A level playing field doesn't benefit anyone - it doesn't give people something to chase or give people an incentive to improve through natural selection. Survival of the fittest is there for a reason.

It would make even better sense if they cut the time not the cost. 3 day event would only yield 1-2 up grade for EA and IA. Unless it's not started yet, there's no change in the cost of upgrade for generals.

It's for Barracks troops only - no tactics, Generals, etc.

Oh well ... nothing to get excited about then. Not that it would have helped anyway since my armory has 4 days to refurbish the plane still to go.

Plus my troops were done ages ago

Should be discounted everything in armory, including airfield planes/zeplins, tactics, factory troops, and generals.

My barracks troops have been maxed for a while...

Whats with all these events when the game is not working as intended. It keeps crashing in war for example. Fix this first for crying out loud!

I'm happy with the event... It'll be nice to get my last barracks upgrades off my todo list. But I agree there needs to be some kind of in-flight entertainment for those stuck in the holding pattern before Global age... Perhaps something only pertaining to crazy flying machines... Useless event for me. They could have at least included generals.

This type of event is impossible to cater to everyone- if you play aggressively, or for long enough, eventually you'll be at a point where you've got something maxed. It was the same situation for the other similar events, like upgrade discounts on towers, garrisons/stables, and generals (luckily the latter came out around the time Joan showed up and I was able to push her upgrades a lot). Only new event that would really help me would be a walls event- and that's not going to happen.

I think it's the new task based event system that really needs work- not these discount events.....and the seriously messed up AI over the past few days- that needs serious attention; forget events all together!

I still have some upgrades that would have made this useful, but the problem is that IA upgrades take longer than the event lasts lol. So, because I started a plane upgrade a day before the event started, unless I cancel it and lose half the oil, I wont be able to participate. However, for some in my alli this is a nice event, just only valid for one upgrade or less for most players.

Adding in some event that are beneficial to higher level players is a wonderful idea that I'll make sure to pass on to the rest of the team. Though this event is helping me get some last Blacksmith upgrades in while I can

I frequently can't take advantage of these type of events because they only last a few days, and I already have something upgrading on no free builders. Maybe a longer event or a minimum of one upgrade at the discounted price.

but they already made an event for generals and castle and i guess it was completely in the favor of advanced players who are getting discounts on oil costs (unlike newbies who charge food for general and castle upgrades)
i guess the game is rolling out a discount on a different category, u have to expect whats coming and save ur resources for it, for example, in terms of discount on defensive buildings i guess the next will be mortars and redoubts, and in terms of upgrades i guess it's either gonna be factory and air troops or tactics, so all u have to do is be patient and wait for it, i really wanted these discount events to be weekly but i guess they are alternating with the special weekly events that were recently added into the game, another discount event on walls would be the best but i guess they won't make it since they depend on ur workers/time capacity to not abuse the discount in completing all ur town upgrades, and when it comes to walls, it cost 1 worker and 0 secs so many ppl can really get out of a 4 days discount on walls with maxed walls and that would make the game much harder

I don't understand the hate that this event is receiving. I mean there are other people outside the forum that may find this helpful.
