Noob questions

Hi All,

New to game:

Donate:
I searched the wiki but still not sure I understand the concept of Donating/Requesting troops. If I Donate, do I get those troops back after they die or are they gone forever? Same thing with Request: do I keep those troops as part of my army or do they go back when killed?

War Map
I need to make my war map as strong as my regular map, correct? War map is what other people see when they attack me, correct?

If you donate troops to someone, those troops are gone and you have retrain them. If you request troops, you can use them in battle and request again in 20 minutes, if you don't use them they'll defend your town center.

War Base should be about protecting town center and good defense, your town base should protect your mills and markets.

To clarify, your war base is only used in world wars, you protect your town centre to avoid giving an easy 5 stars. In World War, no need to defend your ressources, because you can't lose any. In multiplayer, they attack your town. You need to protect your ressources, because in multiplayer, when they attack your town, you lose part of your ressources

Okay - I get the War map vs Town map now, thanks. The donating thing seems a little unnecessary to me. Why even have donating/requesting? Shouldn't we just be responsible for our own troops? Not sure I like that part of the game. Maybe I'll see the benefit later on.

Donating serves multiple purposes:

- Ability to give/receive stronger troops that another might not have. This provides a nice advantage in battle.
- Team bonding (High fives!!!)
- Used to measure a players drive to move the alliance forward as well as pushes them to be active if there should be a donation quota mandated.

Auditpete Certainly not a noob question, it's valid.

It allows you to get stronger troops!
It allows you to utilize the special troops of other nations, ie. British riflemen range of 5, korean with double firing speed

Be sure to note how many troops you can hold, ie. if you have 18 available, best bet is for a req of 2 howitzers, 24 available, get a couple of tanks(greek or french)

Good advice! Just as a side note, British shooters donated to a non-British nation lose their range of 5. We were asking British players to fill the war bases, until we realised that the range gets lost, same as boosts from studies.

HZ and I have proven that British troops keep their range when donated to non-British nations on offense. We still haven't gotten conclusive evidence that is the case on defense... but will keep trying see my video https://youtu.be/i4kc-0WWreQ we obviously cannot test war base donated British as there are no replays but really they are only filler so usually only a few of them in there.

Thanks all - I've been donating troops for a couple weeks now; haven't requested any yet. Upgrading to Medieval in a few days and I think there will be a quest related to requesting troops.

I'm good with generating food for right now, but hoping to find ways to generate more gold. I know multiplayer battles, War loot, mines, roads, caravan, rabbits/foxes/bears, sea journey sometimes, regular battle, but it seems like I always need more than I have! Library research costs a lot of gold.
