Just be British like everyone else. They are absurdly overpowered and this company will never do anything to address the imbalance.

If you want fastest clean-up time in war, bazooka/apc germans are actually the way to go, very high dps. Can clear a base faster than a regular British composition.

But, as far as low casualties go, British is the way.

one thing about british .... silo counters them, and i don't really know how much.
so you may find that a lot of the normal advice about british being the best is dated.

For World war 100 percent British is the best for an offensive player.....Rush to MA and switch to british.....I currently switches upto four nations to try always something new.Thats why i have more experience about nation power.....Starting from chinese i switch to Romans thereafter come to french and at last come to british.....But British is the best of all...I am also an offensive player....No doubt and go to british....all the best and good luck

I disagree, the "deploy tanks elsewhere" strategy actually works much better for British than any other nation. Most nations have to deploy 3 tank destroyers to offset the HP of other troops. Ranged infantry (archers) have low enough HP that you can offset it more easily with weaker tank troops than the typical army composition of other nations. British effectively can sneak under the radar as far as the silo is concerned, as long as you're smart enough to deploy something tankier elsewhere on the map.

Silo doesn't counter Brits. It is a terrible building for everyone, but not worse for them. Two stacked decoys always have more HP than the rest of the line attack, so you can decoy the shots away for a while (don't drop on the forest fringe, it doesn't seem to fully count those HP). And if you want to use tanks as decoys to the side, they work better for Brits than others, as melheor noted.

I still hate the silo, as it requires tactics / mercenaries / generals for most attacks, and the game is designed to make those slow to replenish. But when I attack one in war, I find a British army comp does at least as well as any other nation.

Germans are the only real competition in my mind (for effectiveness in war). Their 15% bonus to every troop has no equal, and once you start using APCs, their uniques are great again.

French are a lot of fun with fast retraining and tough tanks, and the extra alliance gate space is a pretty decent bonus for war, on offense and defense. But I would say a tier below Germans and Brits.

if germans are so great, why do so few people play them and salt becomes rarified?
it must be that people don't want to deal with the fury toggling on and off.

I play Germans, and the fury toggle has never been a problem for me. Germans require more micro-management in battle, something I enjoy, but many others may not. It's definitely an underdog to British but I prefer the play style.

As far as salt, it's hard to translate nation popularity to NTGs. If it was as simple as others claim, I'd expect Silk to be the most difficult one to collect because Japanese are unanimously the weakest nation (every experienced player will agree with this, and I actually used to play them). My theory is that there are a few other factors at play here:

- Perhaps coalition NTGs aren't really as random as they seem, salt seems to be a common requirement for the more desired coalitions like Americans, whereas I've never seen that coalition require Silk.
- You're a lot less likely to see an easy/abandoned German base than weaker nations (for Brtis, there are a ton more players in that pool to begin with, so the number of abandoned bases is also higher).

In fact, I strongly suspect it to be a combination of these factors. I actually don't find salt to be harder to collect, I just find that it disappears the fastest. But don't take my word for it, do a test yourself, stop going to wars for a week or two and collect NTGs without spending them, see if salt is still the last one to fill up, for me it isn't.
